invitations - thick or thin cardstock?

Do you think thick cardstock is more or less impressive than thin cardstock? Or does it not matter and in that case, why am I putting so much thought into it?

I think thick cardstock is nicer. If you are going for letterpress, the lettering sinks in deeper into the thicker cardstock. I OBSESS over the small details like that, too. =)

I think thick cardstock is more impressive (but it is also heavier and most likely you will be paying for 2 oz postage instead of 1 oz). I had two thick cardstocks on my invitation and there was no way around paying the higher postage.

Thick by far. But I feel this way about all paper. When I receive proposals from vendors or sales people (in my none wedding life) the quality of the paper says a lot. It is also the first impression that you will be mkaing to your guests.

Some people will care and notice, other's will not. For me it's a personal preference.

I can't wait to see your final decisions on the invitations.

Thanks for your opinion ladies! I'm kind of liking the 500g Somerset from Mercurio Brothers right now (single letterpress). We might go with that. I just need to choose one of my invitation designs. =)

I think thick cardstock really makes an impression. Of course, the most important thing is that you like the design.

I really think thick cardstock makes a difference, and I like the slightly more rough-textured, handmade-looking papers as well.

Thick cardstock is always a better choice for invitation, but it all depends on how much you want to spend. IMHO, thin cardstock makes the invitation look more "cheap" for lack of a better word!
