Is anyone else moving within a week of wedding?

We're moving the week we get back from our honeymoon, too! But what's gonna make it crazy is that we're moving from Des Moines, IA to Minneapolis, MN! Our parents will be coming to help which means that the total hours of driving round trip for them will end up being approximately 16! Hopefully we'll be all packed before the wedding so that we can just come down here, load everything up, drive north, unload, and call it a day (or two). FI seemed to think we could do it all in one day, I beg to differ....if only for my sanity!

Eek! Just make sure your friends and family know that you'll need their help :)

My last day of school is the day before the wedding, so that's my freak out. The other teachers at my school think I'm crazy...

My husband found out about his promotion the week before our wedding so we had to find someone to rent our house and find somewhere to live in West Palm (in an afternoon) How stressful! We moved a couple weeks after we got back from our honeymoon :)

You said that you wanted to fit in a garage sale too?? I would start finding those things out now and posting them for sale on your area craiglist! You'd be amazed what people are looking for.

Thats why I am pushing for us to move in the next few weeks (wedding is in 7 months), that way we don't have to deal with it after the wedding

I moved about 2 weeks prior to the wedding...I DO NOT recommend this. We did a complete out of state move about 2 weeks prior to the wedding. I as then living out of a suite case for 3 weeks at my moms house. It really just added to the stress of things to do and ensure everything was ready prior. Plus I didn't really have a place to have any "me time".

Like Charmenq I started packing early, but it's amazing how much stuff kept falling out of closets. Overall the move itself was painless, but not having my things for the wedding was very difficult.

I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off.

I would love to move now 2 months before the wedding, but the budget does not allow it. Plus it'd be harder to finish planning from an hour away. The timing is awkward but it will be so worth it. All I could think about today at work is how awesome its going to be to have a new place and be around our families.

eww YES! our lease is up 13 days before the wedding!! it scares the crap out of me! we're trying to get it changed though!! **keeping my fingers crossed!**

My father shipped my things from CA to DC while we were on our honeymoon. We packed up my DH's stuff in Boston a week prior to the wedding and as soon as we came back from the honeymoon we moved it down. What made it worse was that I had to start classes for my grad program 2 days later. It was craaazy.
