Is this a good idea or not?

In my sleepless haze I am contemplating stuff... LOL..Would it be a good idea for our Jan winter wedding.. to have the guest sign royal blue ornaments with silver paint pens instead of a guest book? Then we could use some of the ornaments for our first Christmas?

It's not a huge wedding so we would not have hundreds of ornaments LOL. Most likely 75-100 and I doubt everyone would do it... Anyway.. is it a good idea? Or do I need more sleep before I start coming up with ideas? LOL!

I think it's nice....I've also heard of winter weddings, that you can give ornaments away as favors that also double as place cards. You could have a tree with all blue ornaments and YOU can write on each one "Mr and Mrs. so and so" and the date of your wedding and table # and they can use the ornament to find their table and that can also be their favor. Just a thought!

Well, I thought about doing something like you said but seems like a lot of work for someone! LOL (Not me.. my handwriting stinks!)

We are not having sit down dinner though, so I kind of worry about putting that much effort into favors that noone takes home with them.

I figure if someone meets them at the door with an ornament and a pen they will do it..:) Maybe... If not we still have some blue ornaments for next Christmas.

Buy your ornaments the day after christmas!

I think it's a cool idea.  Storing them will take up some space, but as long as you're okay with that, get some ornament storage cases and you're good to go!

I think its a great idea!! I tried getting my best friend/ MOH to do that for her wedding but her mom had other ideas. I think it would be fine after Christmas because you want to use it for your first Christmas together and it won't be in Christmas colors.

I think that's a neat idea!!!  My cousin did River rocks that she's putting in her backyard.  I of course signed mine at the end of the night, when I was tipsy...so next time I'm over, I'll have to search for it, see what I put. LOL
