DH and I are having 2 vow renewals now. Only a few months apart. Anywhoo, is it strange that now I am only excited about the private vow renewal and could basically care less about the second one with all the bells and whistles?

Maybe I feel this way because the first one will be no fuss, no muss. Just a minister, photog and a gorgeous setting.

I think it makes perfect sense given all the family drama you've been going through. Now you can have the best of both worlds!! Yay!

To be honest, one of the main reasons I am still having the second vow renewal is because of my dad. DH and I eloped and therefore, my father never got the opportunity to walk me down the aisle.

He has never admitted it, but I know that disappointed him. Now he will have his chance. He actually seemed thrilled when I asked him to walk me down the aisle this time.

If it weren't for him, I may not be going through with the second one.

I know what you mean about having a wedding so you dad can be apart of it :(. I dont think it is weird, I would much rather prefer the nice quiet one. It is for you and FI only so it is nice that it will only be you two.

Not at all! I wish we could do the same- I wanted to elope a few months ago and FI said NO way! In hind sight I would want to just focus on us and not this wedding- which seems to be for everyone else and/or too stressful all the time dealing with one issue after another....

I have also been so obsessed with the second vow renewal for a long time now. Making sure every single detail. It has stressed me out so much. We have had to postpne it several times as well which has been stressfull.

With this private ceremony, it seems to be so simple. No stress. It's like a breath of fresh air.

now i'm kind of wishing we were getting married at city hall in SF.....just the two of us...looks gorgeous....then having our reception at the hotel....
