I think I have a couple options my officiant gave us. I'll go look and post if I find!
Ok, here are two she sent early on. We wrote our own vows, so it was a bit different, and we kind of made a merge of the two. But here is a good start:
We are here to day because of the love that each
of you have for each other. In the time you have know each other, your love and understanding of each other has grown. Today you will start a new life as Husband and Wife. And
, marriage is one of the most important decisions that two people commit to in their live time but in return gives us love and support from one another. It is the couple who perseveres and demonstrates unrelenting
patience and faith, who obtains the highest form of happiness within their marriage. The vows which you are about to exchange serve as a verbal representation of the love you have for each other.
Will you take to be your Wife/Husband? Will you love and respect her/him? Will you be honest with her/him always? Will you
stand by her/him through whatever may come and will you make what ever adjustments necessary so that you can genuinely share your life with her/him
Rings:______ and ,______ the circle which forms these rings are the emblem of eternity. The beautiful metal out of which they are made, are the least to
tarnish and the most enduring. They are to show how lasting and imperishable the faith now mutually pledged.
Please place the ring on finger and repeat after me.
I
give you this ring as a sign, that I take you to me my wife and that I offer myself as your husband, today, tomorrow and for as long as we both shall
live.
and , you have come here today before God, your family and your friends to pledge your love to each other. It
is not and official that makes your marriage real but the honesty and sincerity of what you both have said and done here today. In so much as the two of you have joined hands, repeated these vows and given and received these rings, by the
authorityvested in me by the Great State of Florida, I now pronounce you to be husband and wife.
The second set::
This wedding is a celebration of the love and commitment you both share. In presenting yourselves here
today to be joined in marriage, you perform an act of faith. This faith can grow and develop and last, but
only if you both decide
to make it so. If you would have the foundation of your marriage be the love and
devotion you have for one another, not just at this moment, but for all the days to come, then treasure the
hopes and dreams that you bring here today.
Your marriage is an outward symbol of an inward union of your hearts. Always remember that your love is
a special gift and never forget how lucky you are to have found each other. Establish that your love will
never be obscured by the
ordinary in life. Always remember to laugh together, cry together and love
together because life is more precious when you share it with the person you love. Treat yourselves, each
other, and your relationship with respect, and remind
yourselves often of what brought you together. Let
everything you do, be done out of love.
Only with this spirit can you forge a union that will strengthen and endure all the days of your lives.
VOWS
The exchanging of vows is a
commitment to make a life together and to share the uncertainties of the future,
knowing that your love for one another remains constant through it all. Today's bond of marriage is the first
step toward your life together as husband and wife.
Please face each other and join hands.
(Groom) please repeat after me.
I, (groom), take you, (bride), as my friend and love, beside me and apart from me, in laughter and in tears,
asking that you be no other than yourself, in all the ways
that life may find us.
