getting serious about losing weight. I'm not happy with my body. I've gained A LOT of weight since I had my son, and it doesn't want to go away. Before I had him I was about 135lbs. Now I'm at least 167ish. I get discouraged when shopping for jeans. A size 12 doesn't even fit me. I don't even try after that because it's depressing when you go up a size and they still don't fit. I don't even want to know what size I am. It's weird because I don't feel like I'm that heavy but the scale and jean size tell me different! It's all in my belly, thighs hips....mostly my lower body. I need help!!! Where do I even begin? I'm going to start doing the portion control and stuff. I barely have time to work out. Any help or suggestions would be amazing. TIA

Step one: cut out ALL soda and other high calorie things

Step two: start tracking calories.  I used LiveStrong.com.... it's AMAZING how fast what you eat adds up.

Step three: pick a calorie limit.... there are equations, etc out there to help you determine how much you should be eating... I was doing 1200 per day GROSS (minus my workouts)

Step four: start working out!!  Take walks.... go running, get your heart rate up FOR AT LEAST 20 mins.

Step five: keep going.  It's a lifestyle change, not a diet.....  :)

Good luck, and we're here for you!

Take it one step at a time. Try making a goal for yourself each week. Like week one make sure you are drinking all of your water. the next begin watching what you eat take out all the processed food out of your diet or count calories. Find something that works for you. If you don't like counting calories try tweeking it. A great thing to start your weight loss is a cleanse what i did was called the McCombs plan. It is great for jump starting weight loss and getting you in the mindset of where you need to go and what you need to do to accomplish your goals. www.mccombsplan.com Once you have been staying on track with food for a week add in a couple days of exercise a week. then slowly add more intensity to your work outs and pretty soon eating healthy and working out will become second nature.

i know it is super tough to start out but don't think of the long run think of small tiny accomplishments such as losing 5 lbs or fitting into a certain pair of jeans. (i have a pair of designer jeans i bought last year hanging up on my closet door to remind me everyday of a goal i want to accomplish)

you will get there girl just remeber take it one day at a time and if you mess up. Draw the line in the sand and begin again. It is a learning process that will take time. And know you are going to be rockin when it is all said and done! :):) Hope this helps!

Great tips girls thanx so much! Keep them coming!

I already don't drink alcohol or soda. I drink a lot of propel water. The kiwi strawberry flavor. Is that ok? Or should I start drinking pure water?

great tips, ladies!

and pure water is the best choice. Propel still has some sugar and some calories. Even 0 cal soda is bad for you. Pure all the way is the best.

Pure food is the best too! Try to cut out processed foods. Shop more on perimeter of grocery stores, where they put fresh produce, lean meats, dairy and breads. Try to avoid everything pre-packaged, canned, boxed. Those foods are low nutrition-wise and packed with sodium that makes your body retain water.

Try not to eat out and make your own meals using healthy recipes.

Make one change at the time. Like this week I won't buy or eat any chips (muffins, fries whatever your unhealthy weakness is). Next week in addition to the previous week, let's say - I won't eat out or I will only eat out 3 meals a week, something like that. If you try to quit cold turkey - you might get off the track.

Good luck!

Eat well and get yourself moving :D I find counting calories really helps! Also, cutting out processed foods. . . healthy, home-cooked, whole foods are the best! Plus, don't deprive yourself.  I find if I allow yourself a treat now and then, it's easier to stick with it.

You can do it!!!! We're all here for you!!
