yes...i've read that due to the glicee (sp?) it has to be mounted a special way...so as to not get moisture on it/mold....icky!!

oooh...that's a great idea Rach!!  i'm getting sooo excited!!  we sign it BEFORE the ceremony, right?

I don't know. Gotta ask Rabbi Ian that. And you both have to be present (with 2 witnesses) so maybe some people do it after. Hmmm...

We are seeing each other before so it's not a prob. I'll ask around!

well, our officiant is a CA judge....so he will probably be good any way we want to do it.... i'm just wondering if we should all (all 5 of us) get together to do it and have pix/video too....or if maybe the judge brings to each of us individually...i.e. moh will be with me and bm will be with him....we're seeing each other before too...i just want to make sure we are ready and allot time for it....let me know what Rabbi Ian says! :)

hmmm...that might be a good idea...since our ceremony is really short anyway....

it was kinda of cute, they had it propped up on an easil so everyone could see it. and it was on the lines of the "first kiss" to make their marriage "official."

Jackie,

If it's a giclee (Jee-CLAY), then yes, it needs to be mounted using all acid-free materials. You will have to use a mat or spacers so the glass doesn't touch the ketubah. Then, you need to make sure it doesn't hang near a heating vent, near a bathroom shower, or on a wall that gets direct sunlight. Any of these can cause condensation to collect under the glass. That's un-good.

There's no framing technique that completely protects the art from the atmosphere, so you need to be aware of it's surroundings. I had a client hang a framed Egyptian papyrus next to his sauna and he got all pissed off at me when the papyrus got wavy and moldy. duh!!
