I also think that if this is what the bride wants, she should do it! Everyone has their own style and taste. I am sure there are plenty of brides that would be all for this idea and instead change their mind because of what they, or those around them, view as "correct". Kudos to your friend for being able to have the wedding of her dreams, be it in a white dress or blue jeans!

I personally wouldn't do it but I think if that's what she want and will make her happy she should do it. It's her wedding and she should do what will make her happy. I know how comfy my favorite pair of jeans are so I understand how she feels!

When, we went dress shopping she would cry in every single dress cause she said she didnt feel like herself. She said she felt like she was lieing to herself. I felt so bad for her. But, I seen her outfit that she has put together and i actually can say it looks like her. I actually started to cry. She has on her cowboy boots and a nice pair of jeans and a very cute flowy white spaghetti strap shirt. And she had the biggest smile on her face. Who are we to tell her this is wrong? She is not the cookie cutter type of girl and luvs to stand out and I say rock on!! I went to several weddings: one was a very traditional one, one was a surprise wedding at a cookout, and one was a costume wedding (fairy theme). And the thing with all of them is they were all very different but all the couples were happy. She is so worried about what people may say or think but you know people will talk no matter what. I am kinda happy that I get to wear just a pair of jeans and boots too...cause that dress was horrible lol I am actually happy that she is standing up and saying "This is what we want and this is how it is gonna be!" The whole wedding party is wearing jeans and boots... everyone from the ringbearer to the groom. I mean we cant judge each other of it...we can say it isnt for me but we have to respect it. If you wanna be a cookie cutter (aka boring) wedding then fine but she decided that she is gonna be comfortable and secure at her own wedding so she is wearing jeans. I guess i am saying that I am going Yee Haww on the jeans and cowboy boots at the wedding

Only a bride with a strong sense of self and security should do as she pleases regardless of the inevitable judgment that will take place.

I think that is why alot of brides take the traditional route cause they dont want people to think they are crazy or deal with the drama that comes with it thinking outside the box. I agree that she has to be strong and secure to do this. But, I am gonna be one of those people to support her and not bring drama. Cause aslong as the bride is happy then everyone should be evn happier :) and you must remember the age old rule: if you cant say anything nice than keep it to urself.

Personally, I don't like the idea of jeans at a wedding, but if that's what makes her and her FI happy, then everyone else should be happy for them.

I dont think there is a "RIGHT" or "WRONG " way to do your own wedding. Would I do it no. that doesnt meen its not a good idea. I would maybe point out to her that this is the one day that she is going to be able to wear a big pritty dress and get pampered. But if that is how she sees her self getting married then jeans it is. Yes people will talk behind her back but honestly there will be people doing that at every wedding. There will always be critics and people that think if it wasnt their idea then its a bad idea.

I am doing everything I can to make my wedding reflect me and my style. Why shouldnt she?
