Ok, I know I'm supposed to be doing them...........I can barely remember to grab my reminder notes, let alone do those.

My question is though, how often/many are you supposed to be doing?  Is it like a "serious" regime that you should be doing 100/day or something like that? haha I'm totally clueless.

ugh they feel weird and i hate them!  i try and do them on my drive to and from work which is 40 minutes...if i remember.  i think i'll do like 25-50 during that time.

In one of the books that I'm reading, it suggests that you can do it for only 5 minutes a day and you should be able to 300 quick reps.  It also suggests other exercises, like holding it deeply and counting to 10 before releasing the muscle.  I forgot how many times you can do that, maybe another 5 minutes?

I hate doing them. I know it sounds weird, but they are so uncomfortable to me... Like my stomach gets a funny feeling as if someone is pushing in my belly button. I know, so weird... but that is the only 'feeling' I can describe.

OMG 300 quick reps in 5 minutes?  Sweet lord, is there a beginner's work out?? haha

I've heard this suggested before. Do them while you're at a stop sign or stop light while driving? Or do them during commercials while watching tv?

I have always done them while I'm making tea/coffee - waiting for the kettle to boil is just long enough for me not to get bored and I do them several times a day that way!

Just as a warning ladies - my friend never did them and her son is now 4 and she leaks regularly - I'm very committed to doing mine because I refuse to wear adult diapers (and I don't care if they get lovely TV stars advertising Poise - I ain't using 'em!!)

LOL @AuntTate re: the beginner's workout. Seriously!!!

@Mar: I know exactly what you mean! I get the same feeling!

@Canook: You have scared me straight :-)

My thing is this...

how many millions and billions of people have given birth over the course of time without knowledge of "kegel exercises"...

I know that they can't hurt, but I think they feel weird!  I would rather work out in other ways.  :)  To each her own!

Taryne - I read this yesterday and I am STILL laughing over the "beginner's workout" comment.  You kill me!

I have the same as several of you ladies with the weird pain behind the belly button. But since my mother has had 2 painful surgeries for bladder issues to correct what her pregnancies did to her (she had 4 kids, 3 m/c), I am going to keep doing them til I feel I may puke haha.  GL ladies!
