This is our new photo 3168896-1

This is our new kitchen. Eventually Id like to redo the cabinets and get darker wood, I prefer espresso/dark cherry color, but that wont be for a long time. Should we get the same color kitchen table like shown in the picture? Would espresso look weird with the cabinets and floors? Our family room is right off the kitchen (other side of the table) and we will have dark furniture in there.

In our dining room, which is a separate room from the kitchen, but still off of it, we have this set.

So, should we stick with all dark furniture and get the kitchen table in a dark color or mix it up and get a lighter table. I need help!

I honestly think either way would be just fine. I like to be creative and mix woods, but I also like for rooms to flow. If it were me, I would probably get something that blended with the living room furniture and could still be a long-term option with the (eventually) darker cabinets in the kitchen.

I don't think it would look weird with a dark table. The countertop looks fairly dark, so maybe it would all tie together? Or maybe you could consider adding dark cabinet pulls (like in an oil-rubbed bronze), which would also coordinate with a dark table. Temporary solution before you paint the cabinets.

Maybe one of the Photoshop ladies can doctor the photo so we can check it out? :-)

I was thinking that about the counters too...good point. That would be awesome if someone could do that in photoshop!

my cabinets are light, our floors are medium, our countertops are very dark, and our furniture is espresso. (these pics are from a party and it doesn't really look like this anymore)

- Ditto, 100%. I would also switch the dining fixture out for something with a dark metal (black or ORB), and a rug to "ground" the space. But overall I do think a deep wood table and chairs would tie in nicely with the countertop and your other furniture!

We have an oak colored kitchen cabinets, and floor. Since the kitchen was a brand new kraftmaid kitchen IT STAYS. We purchased a cherry table and chairs less than 2 years ago. I thought it would look sooo odd. But since we needed to purchase other things before a new table I bought a rug that was dark and light browns. The rug seems to pull the two colors of wood together. I also have a dark wood knife block and accessories though out our kitchen. I like the mix together.
