Hello, this is my first post seeking advice from the fine people on PW.  I love all the great ideas I am getting from you guys!  :)

I live in the Las Vegas Area, and although I haven't formally started looking at wedding dresses (haven't set up an appt. at a boutique yet... haven't even strolled into Davids Bridal), I am already losing heart that I may not find what I have envisioned as my wedding dress.  As such, I was wondering if any one knows of a dressmaker here in Vegas that makes quality wedding dresses (and hopefully, that wont break my bank while making me look good).  I've tried google searches to know avail.  Please let me know if you have used a dressmaker, heard of one, or witnessed a dressmaker's creation (via seeing it on another bride).  Thanks in advance!

I am not from Vegas but have you looked in the phone book under tailoring? alot of tailors make clothng "on the side". Or do you go to regular dry cleaner  they are usually a good resource. A lot of people on here use dressily me or milly birdal and they are both in china the results are mixed.

There are other options like is there a school near you that specalizes in making clothes? There are alot of costume people there  with all the shows maybe they freelance on the side. put an ad on craigslist. Look on Etsy.com there are tons on dress makers on there.

hopefully this will give you a starting place. Good luck

I live a few hours away, don't know of any dress makers in particular. I did do the whole vegas wedding thing before and know there are places where you can rent gowns if you're really trying to cut cost. Otherwise, just search online and browse every shop you can find. Trust me you WILL find a dress. Vegas has more options than probably anywhere in the country. I know david's bridal is the go to dress shop but a lot of times the smaller boutiques have a better selection of quiality gowns for really good prices.

hey,

I am formally from Vegas and I do know that the WONDERFUL woman who sold me my dress AND helped me keep my sanity makes dresses and has a great selection with really easy on the wallet prices.

I am going to PM you now :) Hope she can help you!
