I posted this Friday night on the main board, but I wanted to share it here, too. Friday night I officially became engaged.
I don't have a big dramatic, romantic engagement story, but I guess it's important to know first that we went to high school together but didn't know each other well and actually got together on Facebook last year.
So Friday night we went out and basically relived our first date. Same restaurant (same table, actually), same movie theater, etc. Then I needed to get on home because I had to bake my cousin's birthday cake for the next day. I
put the cake in the oven and sat down on my couch with my laptop to catch up on everybody's Facebook posts for the day. He was sitting in the chair checking his email or Facebook or something, but I wasn't paying much attention. He
asked me if my page showed when he made an update and I told him probably, but I would check when I finished reading the day's updates (I had scrolled down pretty far already and didn't want to have to go back through everybody's stuff all over
again). So I kept reading and he came over and sat on the arm of the couch and was looking over my shoulder. When I finally got to the bottom, I refreshed the page and saw that his new status was "is hoping she says yes." I turned around
and he had the ring box open with my ring waiting for me. :) :) :)
Obviously, I did say yes. :) He had been looking for a "different" way to propose, and he said he thought it was fitting that since we got together on Facebook, we should get engaged on there, too. haha
