We haven't done this in awhile!

So tell me... How did he propose?

I love me a cute romantic proposal story! =D

I have been proposed to 2 other times by two other guys and turned both down. The first because he was going into the Air Force the second because I knew it would not work. We were like oil and vinegar. If we really worked at it constantly it could work, but there would be constant fighting to keep it together.

------------------------------------------------------

Mark first proposal 20 years ago was very sweet and simple. We went to Glouchester, MA Wingaersheek Beech and It was early in the year.

-----------------------------------------------------

Mark and I met on New Year's Eve and started dating in March.

June 1993 -

It was just before Father's Day. We went to Bliss Marine, so I could find a gift for my dad. I bought my father a book about the art of sailing. It was a hurmous book. Then we went to the beach. Because it was hot, but the water cold I was the only one who went swimming. He thought it was funny because I reminded him of a sea 0tter floating on my back. The tide was was midway between high and low.

After I was done swimming we played with hermit crabs, star fis,h and snails. He tried to catch a crab.

It was about time for us to leave and the sun was begining to set and he took my hand and asked me to marry him.

He did not get on his knee and I am glad for it. He did not have the ring yet.

After this we went to dinner we bought lobster and I could not eat it because they looked like the hermit crabs. I placed my napkin over it and just ate my salad.

We then went to pick out a ring. I decided against an expensive ring. It was just $30 because I told him what I wanted was to build a new computer. So, the computer was my actual engagement gift. It was so much fun buying the parts and building it together. The beginnings to building a life.

We decided to get married 2 months later on my 19th Birthday because I was already planning on moving out of my parent's house and he wanted us to be married before living together. How sweet is that?

It did not end up working out quite that way. A couple weeks later we celebrated our engagement and then a week before we were supposed to get married I found out I was expecting Andrew. Babies were not on our 5 year plan, so I get a little freaked and postponed our wedding and we did just live together too make sure we both thought it would work with a child in our lives so early.

It was our anniversary (18th) and we were about to go into a restaurant. The moon was full and reflecting on the canal. It was cold out and he gets on his knee and gives me a little grey box and inside was a beautiful ring and one I had never been given. He said Will you marry me again. I said of course and that is why I am now here on PW.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Marrying young and having children young is not the right path for everyone and not everyone is meant to stay with their SO, but I feel blessed that God did give me my one and only so young. The only reason I can figure is I went through hell growing up and now I deserved some stability even if we still have struggles.

Trent proposed to me on a Sunday after I had been away for the weekend. I was driving home that Sunday with a friend (8 hr drive) and he went to talk to my dad that day about asking me.

When I got home that night he had a very romantic dinner ready (with candles...which is why I knew something was up, b/c that was the first time he'd ever done that! dinner yes, candles, never.) and he got down on one knee in our kitchen and asked me to marry him!! It was very sweet.

I love that Uhlease! He planned it all out and how sweet that he asked permission. Sounds like you and your dad have a great relationship.

It was Christmas Eve. DH had been planning to stop by this little John Deere dealership that is off the road on the way to my grandma's house. He collects JD tractors and is a total farm boy, so he always likes to drive through dealerships like this and I always kid him about it. To the point where I finally told him he couldn't buy another tractor until I got a ring! (I was kidding, it was a joke between us). So he wanted to stop in at the dealership and tell me he was getting another tractor as he pulled out the ring...but the weather was bad and we were super late, so he didn't stop. Instead, he followed me into a back bedroom later that night when I was going to get a last Xmas present (for the dog!) and just all the sudden dropped down on one knee. He said he had been trying to think of how to ask me all night since Plan A was foiled!

Stole this from my bio:

To say that I didn't see this engagement coming would be an understatement.

Todd had always lead me to believe that he would never get married again.  As much as I believe in marriage and wanted to be married again, this was not a relationship deal breaker.  I was in a good place and I was content to carry on loving life with a fabulous incredible amazing man!

Unbeknownst to me, Todd had been carrying around a piece of paper with my ring size for about 2 years.  I had no idea and wasn't told of this until after he was on bended knee.

Our engagement took place in the Dominican Republic on the last full day of our vacation, and as I said I didn't see this engagement coming.  Apparently, neither did he.  One minute we are sitting talking to each other and the couple we are away with and the next, he is in front of me, asking me to marry him!  I can remember my hands on his face, crying, saying, "Really?  Are you sure?  Really?  Really? Really?"  All the while, laughing and crying. He was laughing and crying.  The couple with us, were shocked and laughing, both of them were crying.  I can't even tell you the joy and excitement I felt.

There was no ring, (bought later) no flowers, no music and no over the top actions, but our engagement couldn't have been more perfect and I couldn't be happier.  Happy Heart Happy Me!

 Wedding Day Follow Up

I bought Todd a watch for a wedding day gift. On the back I had "3 shot later..... September 22, 2012" engraved on it.   He loved it.  This has become a bit of a joke between us now.

Ross proposed after we'd been together for almost 3 years, in May of 2010. We were living in Toronto and he decided we should go to Niagara Falls for a long weekend. Up until then, we never went anywhere except to visit our families so I knew it was coming (especially since I had to take a day off from work as well) -I just didn't know when during the weekend it would be. We arrived late afternoon and got ready to go out to dinner. Now my idea of getting "dressed up" for dinner out is jeans and a nice top. When I saw Ross in a button-down shirt and dress pants, I KNEW! I started getting so nervous/excited I was having a hard time putting my makeup on -my hands were so shaky! I managed to finish getting ready and we went for dinner at a really nice restaurant overlooking the Falls. I don't like being the center of attention at all, so I wasn't sure he would proposed in the restaurant. We finished dinner, and headed down to the Falls when it was almost sunset. We walked a bit away from everyone and that's when he proposed. He didn't get down one knee since he didn't want to draw a lot of attention -he just wanted the moment to be between us and even though I was expecting it I was still surprised with all the effort he had put into the proposal. He also told me he was going to wait until our last night there to ask but was getting so nervous he wanted to get it out of the way so we could spend the rest of our trip as newly engaged :)

I had an unofficial and official engagement. Lol.

The Unofficial.

During a weekend getaway to Chicago in March of 2011, Cale wanted to stop in some jewelry stores. We stopped in a jeweler and saw a ring that he liked. The consultant asked me to put try it on and asked what did I think. It was gorgeous, fit my finger as if it were made just for me and sparkled out of control. She kept asking me if I liked it and I said it is not up to me, it is up to him to choose my ring. He grabbed my face in his hands and said baby do you love it and I said yes, it is beautiful. He hands the lady his credit card and says will you marry me? I was so stunned I kept blinking uncontrollably until I finally said yes! He gave me a big hug while I cried and everyone clapped while we kissed.

The Official.

Even though Cale had purchased my ring, he wouldn't let me wear it because he wanted to propose to me in front of both of our families and friends. Even though I knew it would happen, just not when, I still got emotional when he got down on his knees in front of our family and friends on Christmas of 2011 and proposed. His words touched my heart! I looked an absolute mess because I was running around fixing plates and making sure there was enough food for everyone and he told me I was the most stunning thing he had ever laid eyes on!

This is mine..

He had a friend invite me to a “renaissance garden exhibition” aw he said. So wen me and my friend arrived at the garden, I saw people dressed with renaissance costumes. I just thought it was part of the hole exhibition, but when we got closer, the dressed people “attacked”  me and forcefully put me in a similar dress as I shockingly realized that there were MY FRIENDS! “ OMG  what is happening?? OMG I don’t believe it” I kept repeating as I started to realize what was about to happen and I couldn’t stop giggling.
