My FI is in the Army. He is a field artillery officer and is on his second deployment. He should be coming home a month and a half before the wedding. I can't wait!!! He has been in pretty since a few months after we started dating- so we have been long distance for over 4 years. I can't wait until we finally live in the same state!

Two weeks after the wedding, I will be going in the Army too! I will be JAG (army lawyer)- I am pretty excited about it!

my fiance is a 1LT in the army national guard. he was deployed to iraq most of 2007. he proposed in october while on his 2 week leave! <3

My fiance is a Captain in the United States Air Force.  He's an Electronic Combat Officer on the AWACS plane.  Right now he's an instructor and in a squadron that doesn't deploy!  (yay!!!)  However, normally I'll have to get used to 4-6 month deployments about once a year. 

I love this group! My FI is a corporal in the Army. Right now he's on recruiting duty but his actual job is crew chief on an Apache helicopter. He's in the process of putting his packet together to (hopefully) become a warrant officer and be a pilot. He's been deployed twice would have gone to Korea then back to Iraq or Afghanistan had he not gotten picked to be a recruiter so I'm thankful that we can plan our wedding together and be together.

oooh, hurley- that would be so exciting if he could be a pilot! FI wanted to be a pilot, but sadly, he has pretty bad eyesight :(

Well DH is a 2nd Lt. in the US Air Force! He has been in for one year. (plus 4 years of jr. rotc, and 4 years of college ROTC) He does the same job as wildfire's FI! Wildfire's FI will prob be my DH's instructor! I think its so crazy that we met here on PW and our loved ones are in the same job and now stationed at the same base! CRAZY right?!! Anyways- he is on a month TDY right now-- so im left to unpack this whole house by myself! I am a bit bitter! :)

I miss him so much and it hasn't even been a week yet! I don't know how I am going to handle 4-6month deployments!?

I am really glad that this is a group-there are only so many of us that know what its like to be married to the military! :)

Hi! My FI is a 1st LT in the Air Force and he's stationed in Georgia...and I'm in New Mexico. We've been in an LDR our entire three years and just when I made the actual plans to move my stuff out to be with him (beginning of October) we got word that he's being put on the deployment list for October-Januray...and our wedding is in February. This all happened yesterday, and even though we've gone through a deployment before, the first one wasn't during important holidays and right before our wedding, so I'm taking this pretty hard- my eyes are still puffy and red from crying last night.

I love this group already and can't wait to start posting some of the pics and ideas I have! And I'm going to need your girls help to make it through this deployment, because right now I'm feeling pretty darn weak.

aw, jesslyn- that really stinks! I hate that there is always such short notice for things. Hang in there. As bad as him leaving is, there is no feeling in the world like when he comes home.

Wildfire: he is! I'm moving there in October and he'll leave around 12 days after I get there (five of which my parents will also be there helping me move). We're *this* tempted to do a courthouse wedding beforehand so I can get my ID cards and all that jazz and get on base and start meeting people.
