Who got these for their invites?  If you did/are, can you recommend the company you used? 

What is a good starting pricing for these(they would be in each's I assume)?  I am considering doing them, but want to know if its within our budget. 

I did! I designed my own cards and then had them letterpressed by Accucolor in Chicago:

I researched multiple companies and Accucolor was the best bang for the buck I could find. They give a 10% discount for wedding material.

My order cost:

120 invitation cards: 5.5" x 4.25" 2-color/single-sided, on 21 Point Crane's Lettra in Ecru color paper = $324

120 reply cards: 5" x 3.5" 1-color/single-sided, on 21 Point Crane's Lettra in Ecru color paper = $163

It came to around $500 inc. tax/shipping. This did not include envelope cost.

We went with Painted Tongue Press in Oakland and took advantage of their $538 deal at the end of the year.  I think the price went up, but they are worth it. They are very detail-oriented, timely, and have impeccable taste.  www.paintedtonguepress.com

Nelpy, did they work with you to make your design or did you have to do the designing yourself?
I heard its harder to give them a design if you create it on MS Word or Publisher, rather than using a program like Illustrator which is meant for graphic designers etc. I think because they are more compatible for letterpress?

I got my invites made by Aerialist Press. Alex is a previous PW bride and now is a PW vendor. She is fab and great to work with. She and her husband Craig are willing to work on any design you'd like. Weather it be them to design, you to design or you both designing.

Ditto Nelpy! Kim and her entire staff are amazing! You can work with them one on one to create your invites or use something they already have. We went through multiple options and adaptations before getting what we wanted and Kim was amazing. They are artists for sure! Worth every penny. They even produced a custom color for us.

We are using Ajalon Printing. We're happy with them so far. They have been helpful. They have a deal going right now...

Letterpress Special - 100 Invitations & RSVP Postcards $439!

I think when we sent our deposit it was a little less, like $398, but we added a reception card ($225) and custom map to the Recption card, which is an additional $30. Total was $679, which include sales tax and shipping. They have some beautiful designs, but remember: the special only includes one ink color!

We're working with Volta Press in Oakland, CA to get a custom design. Since we're from Oakland, we're really excited to work with a local company. We're still in the design process now, so I'll have to report back, but I've enjoyed working with them so far.

I found their prices comparable to The Aerialist Press, which I also think has great designs.

Painted Tongue Press looks beautiful but I didn't get a chance to get a quote from them.

That Ajalon deal is really good value.

We got our invites back from Volta Press a couple weeks ago and just dropped them off at the post office yesterday. I love theml!!!

I found that Laureen at Volta Press was very easy to work with -- we had a design session with her where we discussed our ideas and inspirations and then she did 3 mockups for us.  After we settled on a direction, then she took the design a little further.  The whole process probably took about a week to finalize the design and 3 more weeks for the printing. They printed our envelopes ahead of time so that we could get them to the person who was doing all the addresses.

I also went down to the studio and got to try printing a couple on their huge press.

We paid a litte extra for the 400 gsm Hahnemeule cotton paper.  But I love how they feel.
