Microermabrasion? Anyone done it? Recommend?

I'm trying to get some glowing skin before the big day (65 days) and my dermatologist recommended a microdermabrasion treatment.  I don't have huge pimples, but do have sort of bumpy skin that is prone to white/black heads.  She said that really helps create smooth glowing skin.

There is a place on LivingSocial doing a treatment for $39 which is a steal.  The place seems really nice and has good reviews.

Have you ever done a microdermabrasion?  Did it make your skin better?  Thoughts?

Thanks!!!!

I had won 1 free mico session. I didn't see huge results after, but there was some smoothness to my skin. They suggested I needed 6-8 treatments but the price was astronomical. I think if you can get it for a good deal, why not?!

Try Dermanew.  It costs the same as one microdermabrasion treatment and you can use it much more often.  Its a home treatment.

I used it before I do a photoshoot for 5 or so days everyday.  And my skin looks amazing.  Which helps with makeup appplication too.

I had one done about 1 month before the big day.  It was a nice way to pamper myself and meet up with my hair/make-up artist so that she can evaluate my skin.  I really wanted to have atleast 2 sessions before the big day but Im glad that I had the one. My skin was so soft and smooth and I could really see the difference from one treatment.  HTH.

Thanks for the responses ladies!  For $39 I think it might be worth it.  Will it make my skin red?  I don't want to do it too close to a shoot or shower if that's the case.

For 39 bucks go for it but be caresful if you have easily irritated skin like me I broke out really bad after in rashes.

I used to have it done every couple months for about two years. However, I went to a plastic surgeon's office for it, and he also used to do a gylcolic acid peel at the same time. I had red, sore skin for about two days, and then it was great! Make sure you moisturize, and don't get it done the weekend before your wedding, and you'll be great!
