How do you guys feel about the Money/Dollar Dance? I'm afraid it comes off as tacky and rude, but I know I'm always willing to give the new couple a few bucks. Or maybe I just feel guilty that my cousin gave all her money to charity and we will put it towards our home purchase.

I think it's fine - It seems more of an activity for the bride and groom to interact with their guests.

I think it depends on your culture. We see it at Filipino weddings all the time, so I don't view it as tacky. It's something fun we always expect.

I'm going to do it. I know what you mean about it being tacky, but everyone who is hispanic does it. I see it as a great one on one opportunity with your guests. I hear it's a great help!

We're on the fence about it. FI has never been to a wedding where it was done, I have though. We both see the tacky side but then again we both see at (like Claud said) as a chance to spend a little time with people! Of course, you can dub it the "Honeymoon Dance" or in your case "Home Fund Dance!"

I think it's a tradition in all cultures to help out the new couple, I just HATE asking for things, especially money, from people. But I think we'll try and do it.

we're not doing it...i'm filipino - but we're still not doin it...both my moms would roll over twice ;)

if we decide to do a dance, it will be "pin your advice/best wishes" dance and not the "dollar" dance - just to get the one-on-one time with our oot family & friends...

Were doing one, but calling it the "Honeymoon Dance" since thats been our ongoing theme for help :)

I think there is nothing wrong with them, and have never minded when I'm at other weddings as well! They have always been fun! I really think it depends on the couple, and your "status" haha

- HMM :)

i always feel like "i dont know where to pin - b/c i dont want to put holes in the tux" so i go for making the "crown" out of the bills!
