I need some ideas for my mother on how to wear her hair. She will also wear the traditional chinese dress and her hair is shoulder length, so up or down?

I would say up. I think the traditional chinese dress looks better with hair up/back--seems especially elegant, which I think is how we'd all like our mothers to be portrayed :)
