Of course the newbies shouldn't feel that way!  I'm referring to not being as "excited" about the boards as I used to be.  My own shift.  It is natural that a shift would occur...I just thought I would feel it AFTER my wedding.  I think it's just because I am pretty done with the planning. 

And just a heads up...this is the first forum I have ever been on.  Gosh...I feel like a kid getting lectured.  Think I'll go sit in corner for a little bit.  Totally kidding BTW :-)  I can see how my original post may have been missunderstood.

Personally, I totally agree with this. When I was here this time last year, there were so many less girls on here, so it felt like you got to know people more. Now the board are so busy, it's hard to keep track. I mean obviously it's great that PW is growing, it's just that the atmosphere has changed a bit I think. I'm sure for me it's that I'm not planning my wedding anymore, but I started to feel the shift a month or so before the wedding.

Yes, change is good, but being able to expel an emotional expression is even better.............hence the VENT group and why it was created. To get it off our shoulders not to be lectured but something to spit out and be done with. BLAHHHHHHHHHHHH its been said "who else feels the same way" VENT, SCREAM, YELL something in this group/forum because this is the spot to do it.

Dreamin I totally understand. I can't keep up with everyones wedding like I used to and I'm not sure I want to give advice to people who don't have bio's or even an explanation on why they don't have one.  I love that there are more new people joining the forum because growth is amazing and it helps PW expand, but I understand where you are coming from and as a not too oldie but not newbie......... yeah, it sucks to see others you have posted with fade to black.

All online communities go through this.  Seriously, every single online community that I've been a contributing member of has had a post that basically amounts to "things suck now, why can't they be the way they were?"

And honestly I would go a step farther and say all communities period go through this, virtual and non.

Personally, I'm just glad that PW is GROWING and we're having these complaints because the community IS so large and alive.  Have you ever been a member of one going in the other direction?  Dying communities and dead communities with a few ghosts still lingering are a lot worse, because everyone involved has a vague sense of guilt- "what could I have done better", "if only I'd ____ more, I could have saved us"- when sometimes it's just the natural progression of things.

That said, I totally understand what you are going through, and it sucks big time.  I'm not as close to PW as some of my other communities,  but I've definitely experienced this.  The friendships that are real DO last, no matter what happens to the place itself.  *hugs*
