Hello lovely PW ladies!!!
I can’t even tell you how much I missed you these past few days. I couldn’t wait to come back and fill you all in! So, without further ado, here’s the scoop on what went down:
Wedding Week
Tuesday
Tuesday my ladies and I spent the entire day baking homemade cookies and pastries for the dessert table. It was so wonderful to spend the day with all the special women in my life. We made over three hundred cookies, and it
still wasn’t anywhere close to enough. Lol. We underestimated how much people love homemade baked goods! That night, I had a sleepover with my best friend/Maid of Honor. We stayed up way too late and giggled and talked like we were in high school
again:)
Wednesday
Wednesday my best friend went with me to run some last minute wedding errands, including getting pampered with some pedicures! The fresh flowers that I had ordered online also started arriving Wednesday—the carnations. They were perfect!
It took us awhile to get them processed and into a fresh bucket of water.
Thursday
Thursday morning the rest of the fresh flowers arrived. My grandma and I unpacked them all from their boxes, and got them all trimmed and into buckets. All in all there were 7 buckets full! My grandma’s house looked like a garden:) We were
allowed to get into the reception venue to decorate at 1pm, so we got all packed up and headed down there. My sweet DH spent most of the day at the top of a ladder hanging whatever I asked. He’s a real trooper! The rest of my family was
amazing, pitching in and doing whatever was needed. We fluffed tissue paper poofballs, strung Christmas lights, filled vases with sand/candles, and did all the major decorating. We put in a full 8 hour day, and then went for cheeseburgers and
milkshakes.
Friday
Friday was crazy busy. I picked up the table linens in the morning, and then my family and I hauled the seven buckets of fresh flowers down to the reception site caravan style. We put the linens, candles, and mason jars on the tables, arranged
the flowers, and made our bouquets. It was so beautiful to see everything come together! It was Friday the 13th, though, and we did have some incidents. My Grandma tripped on some uneven flooring and fell, though thankfully she
didn’t hurt herself beyond a bruise. And my Dad and Stepmom were late to the rehearsal because my little sister (she’s 3!) fell on the way out the door and got a cut on her head that required a few staples! Poor baby. It didn’t slow her down
an ounce, though.
