Music Question

Hey ladies,
Quick question for you. My fiance and I decided to nix the band and go ipod for the reception and have live music for the ceremony instead. The band was just going to be too expensive. Anyhow, we can't agree on music (I listen to hipster music and classical, and he listens to rock and punk...). The only thing we agree on is music from the 20's to the 50's. We've come up with some amazing play lists for the entire night, actually five hours worth of these classics genres, and that wasn't even entire combined collection of these!

Anyhow, here's where I need your input, will our younger guests get it? I mean we tried to comb our other genres to see if there was anything that we could put on playlists that would jive and nothing! We're pretty crazy about our creation but we don't want to bore the people under 50! What do you think?

Are there any people maybe some really good friends who like more moern music who could recommend a few songs to incorporate into your playliist.

I agree that you shouldnt have to play music that you two dont really like, but adding a few songs to make some guests happy might be a good thing.

Hi Champ - I meant to post on this before. I think having 20's to 50's music is great, and I don't think it will bore your younger guests at all. We're including quite a lot of music from that era too, and we're so excited about it! Personally, I think the wedding standards get so boring and unmemorable - I'm always thrilled to be at a wedding where they do something different. To each his or her own, of course, but my vote is, go for it!

Thanks aching, I love your cocktails playlist. That is one of my favorite songs by Peyroux! Between my FI and I, we own soo much music in that style and the more contemporary stuff just didn't mesh well, if you know what I mean... Thanks for the vote of confidence.

I asked some people for suggestions lukduck but my friends are not as into this planning thing as I am, understandably, and they were useless to that end!
