I worked on this pomander until nearly 3 this morning!  I think it turned out really cute BUT I think it needs something -  I also think I might add some very small flowers - roses perhaps?  I don't know.  Maybe it's sleep deprivation or all the Christmas colors around this time of year - it might look a little too Christmas-y  . . .  then again in July it might not.

This took me about seven hours to complete and I really like the finished product - although I do think that I'm going to add some black/white damask or black satin ribbon to it to give it a more custom look.  I'm also thinking of hanging a smallish "H" monogram charm on it . . . Target has monogram ornaments right now that are silver with clear crystals that might work.

I don't know why the color is so off on these photos - the color is a true red not salmon like in the first photo.

I think it'd look really great if you add black ribbon like you were talking about or the monogram thingee.  I don't think it'll look too Christmas-y when its with the rest of your theme.  Very cute!

Thanks Zach - I'm thinking of going into Savannah today to pick up the monograms and new ribbon.

Raz.....Beautiful job...but 7 hours...wow!   I would just add the monogram charm if its bling..Yes!...I like the all one color..just make the ribbon alittle longer...what are they being hung on....Just curious.....

You did a fabulous job, I think the charm and maybe the contrasting color will give it that "something"....but I still think it is great as is.

MUM - this was an easy, peasy DIY project but it was time consuming.  I've got one more to make then I'm done!

These aren't going to be hung on anything.  They are for the flowergirls to carry since petals can't be used anywhere on the cathedral grounds and can't be tossed inside the cathedral.

Thanks for the compliments girls - this was the perfect project to start out with for this wedding.  Now I'm ready to tackle the second one - once I buy more supplies.

great job - i'd add a little more to the poms - i can still see some white patches of the styro =)

and dont you just hate that about cameras? having the flash on totally changes the color!  happens to me too - something looks green IRL then in pics, it's kinda yellowish green??  LOL!!
