My 3 year old boy loves dora the explorer, and I dont see nothing wrong with it. A few weeks ago I bought him a dora inflatable doll at a parade and I got many weird looks for some kids and adults. Some of them even said he likes dora and he is a boy.... What is wrong with people? What is the big deal if he likes dora or know. He is just a child.

I second that.  My little nephew likes barbies, princesses, dresses, and wants to have a ball one day where he can choose a princess as his bride.  Adults should let children just be children and not expect them to like a certain type of toy or now.  My little nephew also likes batman and trains.  To him, they are just toys.  I think it is perfectly fine.

My boys are 3 - almost 4 - and they love Dora! They like watching Care Bears, Strawberry Shortcake & anything with Tinkerbell in it!! They enjoy all the 'boy' shows and characters too. For their 3rd birthday they asked for a kitchen and shop and we spend hours having tea parties!

At the moment Steph's favourite colour is pink - he has a bright pink polo shirt that he would wear every day if he could.....he would also live in his Batman underwear & PJs.

Some people are weird, allowing kids to enjoy anything & everything makes them well rounded - and I'd rather see my boys playing with shops and dolls than toy guns any day!!

My kids (both boys) LOVED Dora!!! They could count in spanish before in english lol

there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and it doesnt mean anything. People can be so judgmental and it is ridiculous and SO ignorant.

Dont let it bother you :)

What the... ? Serious, people made a thing out of that? Wow. Some people spend waaaay too much time making something out of nothing, whatsmore when it ain't even their business! Whatever hun, as long as your little one is happy, who cares? Plus Dora is actually one of the more educational shows out there for kids, what with the language thing going on, so I say AWESOME.

I think that anything that educates a child that they enjoy is perfect. Gender assimilation is far too structured in the minds of the public these days. I think it is perfect that he has found something he enjoys!

I totally agree, aggiebride.

I think genders have become even more structured because of all of the stuff kids have these days.  Everything from toys to bedding to lamps to character branded clothing are a lot cheaper than they were 20 years ago, so every girl is under a mountain of Disney princess, Dora the Explorer, American Girl, Olivia, Lalaloopsy, etc. and every boy's room is chock full of Star Wars, Transformers, Diego, Bakugan etc. with their respective color schemes that we subconsciously associate one or the other with either gender.  When a little boy in primary colored clothing is walking around with a pink and orange Dora the Explorer, people are going to be thrown off a bit.  Regardless, let them stare--to do otherwise (like giving him a different toy because it's "for boys") sends the wrong message.

My son is 4... while he loves his superheros, he plays "house" and "wedding" all the time with his dolls at home.  After my wedding, he asked if he could grow up and be a bride one day!  lol  It's totally fine.  It will teach him to be caring, loving, and sensitive to everyone's preferences and choices when he's older.  :)

My nephew loved Dora more than Diego. He's 6 now and grew out of it and loves boy stuff. Its not weird. I think its good they can love that stuff and not care whats girly or not. Kids should just love what they love regardless of what's the social norm. Silly people with weird looks. It doesn't mean anything. I remember when my nephew say the Katy Perry song that was like Candy Land lol that's when we learned his love of girls... or candy land lol We'll love him no matter what!
