So I know this is my first cycle TTC, but I am kind of confused by my chart (figures... since I am new). I got a positive OPK on CD14, then EWCM a few days later on CD16... but my temps are all over the place now. I take my temp first thing when I wake up at pretty much the same time each morning. Is this normal to have all the sign of Mrs. O, but not actually ovulate??? Here is my chart: So I know this photo 3429676-1

Sadly, it is possible.  You may have started an LH surge which the OPK picked up with the positive but your body backed off for some reason and you didn't actually O.  Stress can cause it to happen and you will often O later in your cycle - I would continue to BD every other day and keep temping and see what happens.  This could also just be a fluke month where you will not O for some reason - that happens too.

Because this is your first cycle keep it up and see how it goes.  If you don't get an O this month, temp again next month - if still nothing then change your thermometer, just in case you got a bad one.  If still nothing, talk to your dr.

The good news is if you really aren't O-ing then you are not wasting 6-12 months before you find out when your dr will finally test you to see what is going on.

Maybe you body decided to wait til your DH got back into town so you wouldn't miss this month :)  On a more serious note, Claire offers some really good advice!  Hope you still get your O this cycle!

Thank you both so much! My temp spiked again to 97.6 this morning... @Claire27 I took your advise & picked up a new thermometor while I was at Target last night, just in case. Mine was a little older anyhow. I certainly hope this is just my body regulating after taking BCP for so long.

Omg, MNM! I know, but he left yesterday & is gone THIS week. Last week would have been a PERFECT time to "O'... Boo!! Maybe, just maybe... Ill "O" this weekend when he is home. ***fingers & toes crossed***

I think Claire said it all hon :( Unfortunately it does happen. You may also be someone (like me!) who O's late in her cycle and has a short Luteal Phase (I take a b-6 supplement to lengthen my LP which has been helping!!).

On another note too, I know you said "rougly" the same time every morning.. I noticed when I first started charting and I didn't take my temp at the exact same time every morning that mine was all over the place. That might be something too!!

I should continue POAS with the OPK's then! Good thing I just stocked up.

I usually temp when my alarm goes off, but occasionally I wake up BEFORE my alarm goes off. I def take my temp within 30min of 6:30 (sometimes 6am, sometimes 6:20...).

That is not a big enough discrepancy on time to make a difference in your temp, so I wouldn't be too worried about that. Yes, keep temping and using OPKs - you need all the data you can get if you don't get your BFP this month =)

Oh man!  I totally thought he was gone alst week and coming home soon.  That stinks :/ Anyhow, like Claire said, the difference in time is not that great to cause such a swing. Now if you were waking up and waiting 10-20 minutes to temp, THAT would cause a swing but not a small time difference.  I only work 2 days a week so I occassionally take mine a whole hour later on a day off if I am being lazy and not wanting to wake up early and mine is never off like that.  Now that morning I accidentally drank some water before I temped, that was a different story!

Ditto Claire --- good to hear that they aren't too inconsistent :) I was just concerned because a friend of mine was just temping whenever (not within 10-20 minutes like you). Some 10-20 after waking... some at 530 AM... some at 800 AM -- all over the board. So that shouldn't make a difference either! And ditto Claire... the first month I charted (even still up to today) I learned so much!! Def keep it up so FF can start tracking your cycle.
