Ladies In Waiting

My wedding ideas (share yours too!)

Ever since I've worked at David's Bridal, I've been mentally planning my big day.

I want a winter wedding.  Not in December, though!  I think December weddings are a little too much.  It's the Holiday season, people are shorter on cash, and I feel like if you have a wedding in December you MUST have red as one of your colors.  No offense to anyone who's wanting/is getting married in December!

Me and Joe's anniversary is January 19.  The next time the 19th is on a Saturday is in 2013.  Am I willing to wait THAT long?  Probably not.  But I would like our ceremony to be around that date.

For flowers, I'm thinking carnations, roses (the usual, haha!).  But I may change my mind.  And for the centerpieces at the reception, I want frosted branches or the flower-ball things in a vase?  I can't remember what they're called.  They look like this:

Stick that in a vase, and that's exactly what I'm looking for!  Maybe the carnations in a darker, richer color?
Anything else wintery would be great too.  I'm thinking black, white and silver as my main colors with touches of cranberry.

I already have my dress picked out.  I'm hoping it will be on sale by the time I want to buy it.  I believe it's $899 right now.  Here it is!

the back of the dress I want!
It's a light ivory color, with ruching (which made my waist look tiny, and my boobs a wee bit bigger!), and the beading and lace is to DIE for!  I tried it on before I put in my two weeks!  I'm sure they have better things out now, but this dress is always on my mind!  It's an A-line (which is perfect for my pear-shape), and I can never say no to lace!

That's all I can think of at the moment.  I'm sure once I'm actually engaged I can finalize these plans.
Joe mentioned buying me a promise ring for our anniversary, so keep your fingers crossed ladies!

Exactly!  Carnations are cheap!  You spend the same amount of money whether you get the real or fake ones.  Why not spring for the actual thing?  My older sister knows how to put bouquets together, and Joe's Mom and sister took floral arrangement classes!  Done and done!

:]

I showed my Mom the baby's breath and she thought it was pretty!  But like always, she must always have a side comment!

"Wouldn't that get EVERYWHERE?!"

Bah! Dani, just realized I made a topic similar to this one haha still catching on I guess!! Beautiful dress! I love lace! Also, not sure how literal you're thinking of doing a wintery wedding but you could incorperate some wintery vase filler. I've used faux snow (from Target) for xmas decoration hehe or you could use little silver bells of different sizes (could get them at craft stores) There are some on clearance now at pottery barn, too. I thought they'd be super cute and you could prob get all that stuff cheap on xmas clearance if you were thinking of doing January. Here are some pics...

Mini Ornament Vase Filler, Set of 18, BlueBah Dani just realized photo 1346667-1

You could put flowers or candles in the vases with the filler. That would be pretty with the black, white and silver.
