Is anyone studying for their NCLEX-RN? Can anyone recommend a review course/book? TIA!

It's been a while but Kaplan was very popular when I was in school. I found it helpful to get a small group together and just  go through question after question.

I'm doing the Hurst review. I researched both Kaplan and Hurst and for me personally I think Hurst will be better. It's actually cheaper too! :)

We took the HESI and I also took the NCLEX Kaplan class and while I didn't think their "thinking tree" was all the helpful it was worth the money for the questions we did in class, the like 2000 q-bank questions and te book they gave us.

I borrowed a coup0le of Kaplan practice question books and answered question till my head spun!

I did Kaplan, but just the online test bank- I loved it. I felt the questions were pretty hard and prepared me really well! I passed my first time, and my mom used it, and she also passed her first time. I think its about sitting in front of the computer and getting use to that too! I think the computer banks are better than the books, for that reason!

My school provided us ATI courses and I dont think they helped one bit. I took Kaplan's RN online course option and it was amazing! You work at your own pace and they dont just teach you material. They teach material but they go over questions and why they are correct/incorrect. You can know material until you're blue in the face and you can still fail. You have to know how to answer the questions, critically thinking and prioritizing based on the pt's situation. They also provide an incredible "decision tree" to use to answer nclex questions and I honestly dont think I would have passed if I did 't take that Kaplan course and use their decision tree! I used it for every single question on the nclex and I was cut off at the minimum 75 questions and passed. They also send you a study quide and there are hundreds of practice questions online, along with comprehensive exams that lets you know where you stand. It explains the nclex exam and how you can pass/fail and much much more! I cant say enough good things about it.
