Hey ladies!  A dear friend of mine recently shared that she is undergoing treatments for egg retrieval for surrogacy as her 3 IVF attempts were unsuccessful.  I had no idea that she and her DH were even trying.  I want to send her a care package, I know what MY comfort items are, but I was wondering what you all turn to, even if just PMSing?

TIA!

I know it may seem like a typical girlfriend gift but one of the most generous gift I received from a friend when I was going through IVF was gc for several massages.  It's a very stressful procedure.  So I was so happy to use the gc for a couple of gentle massages before the retrieval to calm myself and ready my eggs.

I agree that professional massages are a great gift! My sister in law bought me one a couple days before my wedding because I was stressed beyond belief and it totally helped to calm me down and lift my spirits.

Ditto the other ladies for sure - My sister got me a massage for my college graduation present - used it right after graduation and I'm so glad I did. Also, you could maybe do a pedicure/manicure too?? I know some people don't like massages, but love getting their nails done, so that might be nice!

I agree with the other ladies as well.  I'm trying to relax this month to prepare for our IVF cycle and I've already booked a massage.  My friend and I are taking a weekend trip to Atlantic City. I can't wait because I'm already so anxious and haven't been sleeping. :/

I love massages - got them regularly this summer to help with stress.  I also like a little care basket with some bubble bath, a good book, a couple candles, some hot cocoa, and some comfy socks.  Oh, and dark chocolate is like a dream when I am PMSing :)

Yaa massage sounds great. And Murph's ideas are to die for!

My 3 BFF brought me a care basket this weekend because they knew I was pretty upset with the EP thing. It had a lot of homemade food (soups, muffins, cookies), tea and a couple of aromatized candles. I really loved it, especially because they put so much time and efforts in it!!

Ugh, how could I have forgotten the ultimate gift? Food!  ditto pavez!  After the procedure, she might feel nauseous.  Soups, teas, cookies would be a godsend for her.

Thank you ladies!  I will get in touch with her hubby and find out her favorite massage place - we live 2000 miles apart =)

I can send a care basket for the after, too!  Thank you!
