NEED ADVICE!

Okay ladies...I'm having some tux drama. My dress is an ivory maggie sottero dress...the material is taffeta so it's not real ivory looking, just slightly. BUT the gm and FH still need to wear ivory so my dress doesn't look dark. FI bought an ivory shirt and will wear an ivory vest from men's wearhouse. The rental ivory shirts are significantly darker in color and I didn't like how they looked with the red vests. So here is my question...would it look bad to do the GM with black shirts and red tie and red vest and then FH in an ivory shirt, vest and tie? OR should the GM wear black shirt, black vest, red tie and FH in all ivory. OR should FH also have a black shirt. Have any of you seen pics of the groom in ivory or white shirt and the groomsmen in black? If you have pics can you please post??? Sorry, the people at men's wearhouse were SO UNHELPFUL...they just looked at me like I was a crazy b*tch! They were like well as long as the groom looks good what does it matter? WTH!?

**funny thing is FI always makes fun of me how addicted I am to this site...but he's all worried about this and told me to ask you all! hahaaa...I thought that was cute:)

Okay...so I THINK we've figured it out. I'm not sure how to post the pic on here but if you go to www.boucherphotography.com and click on weddings, then click on the wedding of "yoko & shane" it would be like that, but instead of FH wearing a red vest it would be all ivory. What do you all think? I feel better about it after seeing it...just wondering what ya'll thought. THANKS!

I like the idea

I really like the idea of the GM in black shirt, black vest and red tie. The GM in Yoko & Shane's wedding look awesome, really sharp and suave. I like it much better than having the black shirt, red vest and red tie... as that kinda feels a little to valet-like to me.

For your FI, I think ivory shirt, vest, and tie will look really nice too. It will probably look a bit more formal than his GM, and he'll also stand out really well as the "groom.". To keep a tuxedo theme going, your FI could wear the same as his GM, but with an ivory tie. I think that would look sharp too.

My own preference: I'd put the GM in black shirt, black vest, and red tie. And put your FI in ivory, ivory and ivory. I think it'll just look nicer in photos. When your FI is with his boys, he'll stand out. When the photos are just with you, it will balance better... instead of being a stark black silhouette with a stark ivory silhouette. Does that even make sense? (it does in my head!)

I agree! Were doing the same thing except FI will wear a black shirt too. (As you saw in my other post haha :) So confusing! What are you doing for everyone else, do you have ushers or anything?

Lastly, I was surprised they didn't have good ivory? We picked out ivory originally too, but it did look white to me (not dark or yellow?) Maybe different places colors very... I have a ivory MS dress too!
