Hi All! I am in need of a catholic priest for my vineyard ceremony in Lodi, Ca. Please help! I understand most priests don't officiate weddings outside of the catholic church, but I'm hoping there's one out there...or an officiant that is familiar with giving communion and other catholic traditions! Please help...thanks!!

From what I've read, a Catholic priest may be willing to perform the ceremony at the vineyard, but the marriage won't be recognized by the Catholic church unless the ceremony is perfomed in an actual church.

My FSIL was dealing with this for a while and ended up compromising with her priest. He is willing to perform a modified ceremony at the vineyard where they're getting married, but only after they've had a small private ceremony in the church.

Either way, I've heard good things about these guys: http://www.whiterobedmonks.org/

Good luck!

we are using the white robed monks and I really like them. I'd highly recommend them!

Hi Ms. Bella!

I believe abatyref is correct. My friend was married in SF last September and she had a white robed monk perform their ceremony (Fr. Skip, who I highly reccomend!). It was very nice. I also know that many people will get married in the church the night of their rehersal with all their close immediate family and friends and then have a short ceremony the following day for the entire group of guests to be a part of.

GL!

Wanted to chime in with a thumbs up for the White Robed Monks. We were married by Fr. Dittler at the Harvest Inn in St. Helena and he was absolutely amazing. Worked with us to get the right tone and content for the ceremony beforehand, and was fantastic on the wedding day -- helped out with a dozen little last minute details and had a great personality. DH and I (and all of our guests) loved him!
