For my florist, I am trying to pick between:
1.  Mayra from Judy's Flowers

2.  Tessilk Flowers

For the wedding cake, I am picking between:

1.  Shirley, The Cake Lady

2.  Sumi's Oven

3.  Sweet Cheeks

Has anyone used these vendors?  Let me know what you think about them.  Anything will help. Thanks!!!

As you probably already know... I am using Tess but my wedding is not until April (next month)  I will be better able to show you pictures then.  She did my mom's wedding and she used mostly silk flowers for the altar... which looked beautiful!!! and no one could really tell unless they walked up and looked closely.  She also came highly recomended by a friend.  I haven't heard of the other folks.

See... I just added pics! http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/vendor-tessilk-flowers-rating-high

Thanks.  Do she use mostly silk flowers???  How was your experience when you met with her?  I am trying to set up an appointment with her but I know she's very busy, and my fiance and I can only go down to SD on the weekends.  So hopefully we can set something up in the future because I love her work on her website.

The other florist that I've been talking to is fantastic!  She has been so helpful to me and responds to all my questions quickly.  I'm excited to meet with her in May.

Who did you use for your cake?

She has silk flowers but she definitely does not only do silk.  I believe most of her arrangements (centerpieces, bouquets, bouts, etc) are mostly, if not all, real flowers.  She does have silk flowers for   My mock up center piece was made with real flowers...

My experience with her has been very pleasant (see link above or my review in bio).  She is the sweetest person ever!  Looks like you have your appointment set up with her already.  You are going to love her ;)

Re: cake ---> I didn't get to shop around for a baker since my venue offered the cake in the package.  I had the option of bringing my own cake (-$$ in total package prize) but decided to go with theirs.  Not the prettiest and their baker doesn't do technology (major bummer) so no emails, exchange of pics, etc... but the cakes are DELISH!!!  I rather have a good tasting cake that looks a little plain than a gorgeous cake that cost a lot and no one eats.

Let me know if you want her info ;) ...don't have it with me.

Thanks for all the info!  I just set up an appointment with Tess today for May also.  I'm excited to meet with all our potential vendors =)

I have had a handfull of clients who used Tessilk flowers and they were great! None of them used silk flowers, they were all real and were breathtaking! Here is one client of mine, whose wedding she did, http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=78&id=100000554881607&l=bed001fe7c I also have a client who is using her this year. Tess does great work and was reasonably priced among the other florists I have used. Keep in mind, they charge extra to deliver your boquet and boutonierres earlier than the rest of your flowers, or you can have someone pick them up.

If you need any other referrals, I would be happy to help!
