Hi Ladies, I was hoping I could get some advice from you all ~ I'm wondering if I need to actually bustle my gown. I'm attaching some pics of the back of the dress (1 is of me, 2 are other pics). I'll be changing into a reception dress probably 1/4 of the way into the recption. Is it worth it to bustle the dress? If so, any suggestions on what type of bustle?

If you plan to change 1/4 way into reception, I don't think u need to bustle it.  It doesn't have a too long train anyway.  Seems like u won't be dancing or walking around much in it, and seems like u'll be eating in it?

cestfemme, the style of your dress looks like it's somewhat "bustled" already...the train is not too long.

I think you can leave it as is (unless you're doing your first dance during the first 1/4 of your reception). As long as you feel comfortable with it the way it is then no need to bustle. Maybe take it to the seamstress and see what she would recommend.

Gorgeous dress :) i agree witht he other 2 - the train doesn't look too long, so you may be able to deal with it. If you do end up wanting to bustle it higher, I would definitely do a french bustle, as your dress is already designed that way.

After the ceremony, are you planning to walk around a lot? If not, then I'd do w/o it...maybe try walking around during your fittings and see if it drags too much.

Thanks everyone!! I haven't tried it on since I bought it - it's at home in CA (I'm in NYC right now). I guess I'll need to see if I can move around much with the way it is. I plan on taking pictures and doing a first dance with the dress... so I'm wondering if it will be a hassle to worry about the (short) train. If I do end up with a train, I'll do the French bustle. :)
