Nesting: What are you up to?

Hello married or nesting ladies!

Over the holidays I've been doing a lot of nesting and have an extensive honey-do list. I know we've been talking about babies, but for those of us not TTC or BOTB what are you up to?

I'm adjusting to being suburban and being a home owner. I am amazed at how overwhelming and expensive decorating can be. I've got pieces of rooms done, but nothing is complete. I did my frst DIY (or real DIY) project this weekend. I made a padded cushion for a window seat. I'm officially a staple gun master :)

So how are you nesting?

Instead of eloping in novwmber, we bought all new kitchen appliances & 2 plasma TVs. Does that count? ;-)

Well, we are still renovating and redecorating our new home. It is a long and expensive process unfortunately, but is fun. Especially the decorating part. I love that.

But at the rate we are going, the house won't be done until we are 65..lol

We cannot agree on paint color, back splash material, nor ideal kitchen hood model... Not only is nesting expensive, but it is frustrating sometimes... We want Candice Olson from "Divine Design" to come and rescue us!  We are hoping she will expand her taping zone to include the U.S.  (currently tapes only in Canada - boo)

Hey there gals!  Over the holidays I spent the Christmas week in San Diego.  For New Years I had my brother and his family from San Diego come over our house and they spent a week here.  They barely left about a couple of hours ago.  So I really haven't been able to post anything for a while.  When my brother and his family finally left back to San Diego, I did some major house cleaning and took down all the xmas decorations.  I had a great holiday vacation which was well needed and well deserved.  Now it's back to work tomorrow and I'll be going back to college classes in a few weeks.  So no nesting, no major house decorating or DIYs or new appliances for me for now:)

My husband and I did not live together first, so we are adjusting to that and figuring out how to fit all of his stuff into my place.  We are saving up to try to own a house and working a lot.  Over the vacation, we went to visit my parents in AZ, as we are considering moving there in a few years.

Budoh - I am secret Candice Olson wannabe. If only I lived in Canada and could be her protege.

Dirty - That totally counts. We bought a new plasma this Xmas (Merry Xmas to hubs).

Chic - I am loving decorating. I've got 1 room about 70% done. I really just need some accessories, which is still expensive.

Overall, I find myself more hesitant since it's my house, expensive stuff. I want to make my home what I want for years and not just a quick fix. I find this makes it hard for me to make decisions or at least I am more hesitant about making them.

Once I save some money I want to model my master bathroom after the HGTV dream home. Cross your fingers I might win it ;) If so Nor Cal PW party at my place.

budoh - oh man I love Devine Design! That would be amazing! FI and I saw a commercial for a show on DIY Network called Yard Crashers and we are dying for them to come crash us! Not sure how you get on that though.
