Hi ladies!

I just scored as AWESOME new job which is relocating us to Long Island!  I am so thrilled I cannot wait!  We should plan a GTG =)

Anyways, I'm looking for an apartment.  Anyone have any sites or know of any info sources that would maybe help us out?  I know the cost of living (housing especially) is insane, so we're ready to do a good bit of research to find something affordable and that we love!

Congrats!!!  What town(s) in LI are you looking at?  I personally don't know any realtors or brokers, but I'd start with Craigslist to get an idea of pricing in the different areas.

Would you need access to the LIRR?  Rent is higher in those areas where a LIRR station is closeby.  Here are the towns that I would love to live in (someday)....  all in Nassau county, which is closer to the city.

north shore -- Manhasset, Great Neck, Garden City, Westbury

south shore -- Long Beach, Rockville Centre

def a GTG!  I'm in Nassau County and yes, rent can be unsettling.  Congrats on the new job!  There are a lot of listing on Craiglist so I agree to start there.  :-)
