Hey Ashley! I am new to this group also! My name is Megan and my FI is Rob. He is currently deployed to Afghanistan. Left June 3rd of last year, and is coming home within the next two months.. or else that is what his papers say. I really hope I dont have to change my date- it would really make me sad. I guess you really can't determine things like that though being a military fiance. I just read your post- and I wanted to throw out there.. WE HAVE THE SAME WEDDING DATE!!!!!! :D Hope all goes well.

I'm late too!  Welcome, Ashley!

That would be awesome if they are able to come home early.  My fh is a Marine and is stationed in San Diego and I was there the day the Nimitz left.  I'll definitely be thinking about you when I hear on the radio that they're on their way back in!

As of now, it is looking like we will be good with our date.  My fh's unit has one year on, one year off, and they're gone for 6 months at a time.  So, essentially, I feel lucky as he's home for a year and a half out of every 2 years. We really want a summer wedding.  Had he been here this coming summer, I'm sure we would have gone for a late summer wedding this year, but instead, we're set for July 2, 2011.
