Hi Everyone! I am and have been a lurker for quite some time on here & I am excited that my hubs & I are officially TTC now (more like having fun for a while to see what happens)! My last 'active' pill with Yaz (BCP) is tomorrow! I have been on the pill forever, with one break about 4 years ago, which left me with crazy skin :( I am not looking forward to that AT ALL... However, I have been taking Borba Clear Skin capsules, and also Prenatal Gummies for a few months in preparation for that issue, so I am hoping that helps some in addition to cutting back on my cheese intake (big cheese lover here!). I have read that cutting back on dairy helps with hormonal skin problems... Any pointers that helped you would be awesome.

I have been looking back at old threads for info and to help answer questions I have... All very exciting stuff!!!

I am going to start charting my temps on Fertility Friend to see when my body gets back on track after taking hormonal BCP's.

Question - When should I start charting? After AF ends this coming week? Or tomorrow? Or does it not matter that much?

Baby dust to you all!

Hello!! I just posted a similar question. I am still on Depo and should probably wait until I get my first real period to chart, but I figure there is nothing wrong with starting from right now and getting used to it :). Good luck!

Hi there and welcome to the TTC group!! :) So happy to have you here!!

I started charting my temps the first day AF arrives.... but that is just me! This way I was able to see my temps and FF is able to better track your temps and establish a coverline when you do Ovulate! :)

Random Question - those Borba Clear Skin capsules - do those work for you?? I've been struggling with acne (go figure I would get it as an adult.. I've had clear skin for the last 22 1/2 years of my life and just the last 6 months I get it) for 6 months now and I've tried everything. I'm using a Clarisonic brush which has helped... but I still get a bunch on my forehead and chin. If they do help, I'm assuming they aren't safe to take while pregnant.. do you know?

Thanks so much!

@Kristen, the Borba works well for me with balancing out oil production, therefore helping with my acne. I have luckily found a simple skin regimine that has worked great for me & I have tried & used EVERYTHING (I found that less is more). I have not changed my regimine since my wedding over 2yrs ago! I too use the clarisonic & swear by it! That with a combination of a simple cleanser (I switch between Jan Marini C-esta & Cetephil) & a quality cream (I switch between La Mer & Olay) makes for great skin. I certainly hope that stopping my BCP doesnt make me change my regimine... I will keep you posted if I think Borba helped me!

I am unsure if it is safe to take when pregnant, I am going to bring it to my Dr when I go next. I know it has a lot of Vitamin A & Zinc in it.

Welcome and good luck!

I would start temping right away if you are the type that takes time to create a new habit. =)

I just looked up the Borba capsules, but the website does not tell how much Vitamin A they contain - I CAN tell you that it is critical that you do NOT get too much Vitamin A because it can damage your liver and cause birth defects - this is serious stuff.  If you are taking a pre-natal, please verify the total amount of Vitamin A you are getting between these capsules and the pre-natal combined.

There was a prescription drug that was basically high-dose Vitamin A that my mom was on years ago for her skin - she had to take blood tests every 6 weeks to verify that her liver was still functioning correctly and had to sign a waiver that she understood that she must be on birth control and was not to get pregnant under any circumstances while taking the drug because it was so dangerous for pregnancy.  I am drawing a complete blank on the name of the drug though....I'll post it later when I find it!

Welcome and tons of baby dust to you and your DH! Glad to have you join us.

Claire - that sounds a LOT like Accutane. Which I took for 6 months last year. I had to go through the same monthly blood work to test liver levels and verify neg pregnancy and had to sign the waiver as well. You have to agree that you're on 2 forms of birth control. I've stuggled with acne since my teens and then in my 20's it became cystic acne. THE WORST! Accutane was my saving grace and I wish I had only done it sooner.

I am so glad that we finally have some lurkers coming out of the woodwork - and esp that they are oldies PWers that I remember from my wedding planning days!  Best of luck to you TTC - I hope you have a quick and painless journey!
