With my friend telling me how to do it. for the life of me, I have tried circles before with patterns... and failed. but for some reason when my friend told me how she did it... I got it! and... it turned into an honest to goodness hat!!! OMG.

So today I branched photo 3261100-1

OOoo! So cute!

You've inspired me to post my progress. I'm making a little bean-shaped doll.  Nothing complicated, just working in rounds:

Done!

So, I'm pretty happy with it since it's my first ever crochet piece. I decided to stray off pattern towards the end because I was convinced there were missing rounds.  Consequence: the back looks like crochet surgery gone wrong.  But otherwise, he's a cute little bugger.

Congrats all!  I prefer working in the round for hats.  (The other way is to work it in rows then "sew" it together.)  I've made some great beanies and the ones with the rolled brims.

Since we're posting successes here, I finished this tonight:

My first baby dress!  It's a pale lime green (much cuter than in the pic) and hot pink.  Colors my daughter picked out for the baby's room.  I really love this pattern!  (www.redheart.com little sweetie dress & headband)  It's super easy and I can't wait to find out how it fits my granddaughter.  When I find out how it fits I will make another.  I've got lots of pretty, soft acrylic yarn to use and it only takes 1 skein if you don't use a contrasting color.

Oh my gosh, this is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!!  I love it.  These are the kinds of things I want to learn how to make.
