hi all!  you may recognize me from the wedding boards (maybe not, i post few and far between), but hubby and i are now onto the home buying process! 

we've already had one sale fall through - we offered on a short sale and the sellers agreed, but there were some legal issues b/w the bank and the seller and the bank pulled it off the market :(  it was heart wrenching, but alas, the house hunting continues.

we looked at two this morning and we REALLY like the second house we saw - it's even BETTER than the first house we bid on!  and it's a regular sale, so i feel so much better going into this if we put an offer on it.  it's a cute little cape cod about 45 minutes from where we live now im amish country, which is exactly where we want to be.  the upstairs bedrooms are surprisingly big for a cape cod, and the downstairs has beautiful hardwood and a rehabbed kitchen.  we'd have to do some work in the back - re-finish the deck and take down the horrendous above ground pool, but i'm already loving it.

so we're waiting on comparables now to see what kind of offer we could make, fingers crossed for me ladies!

thanks ladies!  we're getting good news on comparables in the neighborhood for an offer price, so hopefully by the weekend we'll have an offer in!  eeek!  i can't help gettin attached, i can't envision us in any house without getting attached!

: ) That will definitely happen.  We looked for a few months, thought we found "the" house and started all the paperwork, etc.  We ended up finding out a few bad things, i.e. needing new septic and the seller tried to "force" us to pay for it.  I got very attached to this house, but we had to walk away and it definitely broke my heart. 

However, we persisted in looking and then we found our home, and I absolutely LOVE it.  We have been here for about 4 months and it is so amazing.  I still from time to time find myself just in amazement that we actually have our own home (and it was so soon after our wedding). 

I can't wait to see the pics and to hear your great news that you are getting YOUR HOME!!!

ah, becca, i can't WAIT to be in your spot!  we're making an offer tomorrow night, i'm so excited/nervous!  but the house got my parents seal of approval tonight, so now it's feeling more real!
