Recently there was an article that provided a guide to writing your own vows, it had the five questions to ask yourself before you start.  I cannot find this article!  Anyone know what I am talking about and can point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

I also started compiling a list of the common questions to begin the writing process:

  • What is the single greatest thing about the person you are going to marry?
  • When did you know that you were in love/ know that this person was the one you wanted to marry?
  • What does marriage mean to you? Why do you want to be a married person?
  • What will change about your relationship once you are married? What will stay the same?
  • What is your most favorite memory of your partner?
  • When you were little, did you dream of your wedding day or your future spouse? How does that vision match up (or not) with your sweetheart?

  • How does my soon-to-be spouse make me feel?

  • How did you feel the first time you met him/her?

  • What has he/she taught you about life and love?

  • How do you feel when you aren't with him/her?

  • What do you look forward to as you grow old together?
  • What am I giving along with my hand in marriage?

  • Is there a harrowing experience that strengthened your bond? (You think? :-P)

  • What do I want my spouse to know about my devotion and love for him or her?

  • What about him/her inspires you?

  • What is it about your fiance that you'd like to improve in yourself?

  • What do you most respect about your partner?

  • What important things do I want to promise my future spouse?
