Hey ladies,

I want to take FI out to celebration his promotion at work.  I'm so proud of him!  He's had to sacrifice alot to finally get to this position, so I want to "wine and dine" him for once. :) I'm looking for a nice restaurant, maybe a bar for drinks...or something "date/celebration like."  I'm not good at this stuff so I could really use your help!  It would need to be on a weekend and I would like to be somewhere in Denver (we live in the springs and it's pretty boring to us).  So I guess I'm looking for at least a night restaurant (price isn't an issue)...steak, sushi, seafood anything with a nice atmosphere! Suggestions are welcomed!! HELP!

Congrats on his promotion!

Well. . .a REALLY fun one is Rodizios. . .prepare to be stuffed.  Guys especially love this place!  It tends to be more bustling/busy though - but if you make a reservation ask for a more private table.  This is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. . .

A nice, romantic restaurant (now under new management) with good food and GREAT views of Denver is Simms Steakhouse- they have the typical steaks/seafood plates, 5 star service. . .dress up :)

I'm sure I'll think of more - and the other gals too have tons of suggestions I'm sure :)

Ditto on rodizios, it's AWESOME!!

Another crazy good place is Melting Pot (all fondue).  It's about $75-100 for a meal, but sooooo worth it!

If you don't want to go all the way downtown, La Sandia is in the Park Meadows area and I LOVE their food... it's a Mexican Fusion restaurant.  Very hip, funky, great food, fun atmosphere, and they have a tequila bar up stairs!  It's not super dressy or expensive either-  FH took me there for our anniversary this year.  We are thinking of having our rehearsal dinner there too!  Delish!

Ruth's Chris Steak House downtown is AMAZING! I don't eat steak but DH thinks it's one of the best steakhouses next to Del Frisco's which is in the DTC. If price is not a factor I would recommend either one of these places as a bill for 2 with drinks could be close to the $200 range...I had a surprise party at Del Frisco's for DH's birthday 2 years ago where I surprised him with his family there for dinner (there was 9 of us)...the final bill was close to 1K...so roughly $100 a person.

Also Vesta Dipping Grill is really good and has a fun downtown atmosphere.

Let me go think of some more....

EDIT: The Oceanaire is supposed to have great seafood...I've never been but it's constantly being recommended to me.

oh I'll second the Del Frisco's suggestion. They are pricey, but worth it. They have a really nice cigar bar there, and if you want to save $ you can have the most amazing hamburger at their bar. I am sure your FI would love it. One place I would Not recommend...The Chop House downtown. It's overpriced and not that good.

I would never go to Del's but that is only because an ex works there!!! ha ha ha :)
