GRRRRRRRRRRRR!
I love my mom, I do, but I have learned that counting on her to follow through on promises brings NOTHING but heartache and frustration.
It is a VERY long story, but I went to Long Beach, CA on business and my mom came down from Sacramento to see me for a couple of days. At 5 AM when we were just waking up she says, "I want to do your website" well I hadn't had my
caffeine and I didn't have an excuse ready for her, so I said, "Okay". This was on December 4th - she promised me the website would be ready by December 17th..... I get that things come up in the creative process (how many times have you
ladies made changes to your weddings, right?) but we had a call scheduled for Dec 22nd - I never got a call. I talked to her on Christmas and didn't bring up the website - the holiday is not the time, right? I waited until yesterday to
bring it up.
I immediately got a call with the usual excuses, blah, blah, blah. I told her that I needed to know if she was going to be able to finish the website, because I had people who could do it and it was IMPERATIVE that the site be completed
THIS WEEK! I'm losing out on contacts! She said yes, it would be done by Thursday - we will see, I guess.
What sucks the most is that I'm not surprised that this happened, but I am disappointed that I was right *sigh*
