Help me out please ladies!

This is our first christmas in Canada together, my twins are 3 so totally get the whole Santa thing and are sooo crazy excited so I want to go all-out with the decorations - including getting a real christmas tree.  FI hates the smell of pine (idiot) and wants to get a fake one.

I'm trying to come up with reasons why I need a real tree other than 'I want one'!, but suddenly realised that I don't even know how much they cost!!

Can any of you help me??  Just a ballpark figure, I've tried to Google, but obviously its too early for anyone to be selling them and FI wants to get a 6.5ft fake one because its on sale this week!!

Well the prices would probably be different out there than here... but for a 6ft tree it's usually about $40 - $60, depending on the seller.  You can usually talk them down too.  BUT if he's absolutely not budging from the fake tree, you can buy some awesome candles at Yankee Candle and Bath and Body Works that smell like a real tree (seriously!!).  :)

I was hoping you'd say that!! I can easily justify spending that for one year and then giving in to the fake one next year, but if it was going to cost around $100 I may as well pay the extra to get a fake one.

Yay!! I get my way!! Thank you very (very very!) much xxx

I'm trying to convince my hubby of the same thing.  We have had an artificial tree for the past few years, and i'd like for this year to be the last time we use it.

I grew up getting real trees, and i'd like to make it a family tradition where we go out and pick a tree :)

Exactly Kat!! I always had a real tree as a kid. It just doesn't feel like Christmas if you don't walk into the house and instantly smell pine....or bitch until Easter about still finding needles in the rug !!!

Honestly, I've never had a real tree!  But our office always gets a real one and I believe they usually cost about $75 depending on the size.  I have to say, I absolutely LOVE the smell of real ones - so fresh!!

Did you find a tree?

I paid $20 for a beautiful 6' fir at Home Depot.
