NWR- Teacher Staff Appreciation Week♥

I just wanted to share all the exciting things going on this week at our school. I am the president of our schools Home and school association (I guess the Canadian version of the PTA lol).

This week is teacher staff appreciation week at my boys’ school.

We decided on the theme “sweet like candy” because it falls on valentines’ week so we can use lots of hearts and candy and “sweetness”.

We were in the school all day Friday decorating with candy and heart themed designs and made a sweet like candy board with all the teachers’ photos on it with sweet words. We left candy shaped paper so throughout the week kids can write messages and stick them next to there teachers, resource, janitor etc faces.

We put quotes about teachers and teaching into hearts and pasted them all over the hall ways and found “famous” teachers and put the photos and stories to go with them…thought it would be cool for the teachers and the kids to see that Gene Simmons was once a teacher (who knew lol)

This morning and in the afternoon we have a butler cart going around the classes with coffee, tea and goodies. And a lady doing manicures for all the staff during there spares.

Tomorrow the manicurist will be back and we also made continental breakfast in a bag with croissants, homemade jams, yogurt and a muffin (as well as OJ, coffee or tea) that will be delivered to each staff member in the morning. Last year we bought them an industrial Keurig machine, so we bought a nice table for it to go o n with lots of drawers and storage space for Kcups etc and 200 Kcups to keep them going for a bit longer.

Wednesday is lunches for all staff as well as a new microwave for the staff lounge. I will be making some “candy trees” as centerpieces for the tables.  

Thursday we will have a hot breakfast for all the bus drivers and the crossing guard as well as a performing group is coming to the school to put on a play for all the kids. It’s also in relation to ‘black history month” so we are able to do both. We also have carnations (thank you for helping us bloom) for all staff and home made cake pops that say “UR Sweet” on them. (Since it is Valentines Day)

And Friday we have cakes with all there names on them and the school emblem and swag bags filled with goodies (including M&Ms that we personalized with the school emblem).  We will also have our butler cart in the am and pm for them and will be giving them a new toaster for the lounge as well.

Its been a CRAZY few weeks coordinating this and figuring out what to do, volunteers needed and the funds to pull it all off but we are here now and its going to be great. I work full time and have left the majority of the day to day in my trusted executive team and will be trying to leave work early so I can be part of the afternoon activities. I CANT wait to see what they all thing. I’m hoping to get pics throughout the week so ill post them and show them off.

The teachers work so hard and do so much for our kids. I’m so happy to be a part of this and help spoil them. I now we have a few amazing PW teachers on here and from the bottom of my heart I say THANK YOU!!!! I don’t know how you all do it.

that is so great.  my mom was a teacher for over 20 years.  she taught 3rd grade.  in all the years that she taught no one ever did anything like that for her.  my hat is off to you for wanting to make it so special for everyone.  it is also a way of teaching the children to see in the good in others and to be greatful for what others do for you.

First of all, thank you for thinking of teachers at this time.  Secondly, I must say that reading this made me a little envious--myself and my coworkers would be over the moon if our parents or district did even a quarter of what your association has done to show appreciation to teachers!  I know that the teachers at your sons' school will be so very appreciative of all of the effort you've put forth.  Thank YOU for showing your concern and support for them.
