right now the show is about women who marry men on death row...

seems a bit odd - not like homeboy is getting out kwim???

I don't normally watch the show but I happened to watch the episode you're talking about. Yes, definitely odd. Especially the one who got married with her FI being on the phone! I know there are slim pickins out there, but damn!

I haven't watched it but I once saw a show about women who married prisoners- like the menendez brothers. One of the theories is that they do it because the man can't 'leave' them. they know right where they are....

but still wouldnt they want someone to hold, someone to you know maybe go to the movies with etc???

I also imagine that these men, with nothing else to really focus on, are probably very attentive (even romantic!) with these women. They probably write them beautiful love letters and shower them with compliments and such....something that perhaps they never received in any other relationship they've had? These women are literally the best things in the prisoner's lives and perhaps it makes the women feel special? Just theorizing!
