NWR: What shampoo/hair products do you use?

So...recently DH and I finally combined bank accounts, bringing my own spending habits out in the open, and I am trying to cut back on my personal spending.  :)

And, on a slightly related note, we are all out of shampoo.  Except for the Garnier that DH bought, which gives my hair some serious wax issues and eventually causes flakes for me.  No dice.

What shampoo do you use, and why?

And in the spirit of this discussion, do you have any other cost-cutting beauty tips?

I use Loreal Everstrong sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner (the one in the gold tubes)! And I also use Nexxus, so I try to switch between the two since the Nexxus is expensive! I have funky hair and it gets like sticky if I use certain kinds. So far, these two seem to be okay!  I loveeee the smell of the Loreal. It's like a vanilla dream :) and it makes my hair so soft and is less expensive!!! The only complaint I have and reason why I don't use that alone is that it doesn't seem to give that deep cleaning that my hair needs every 2 or 3 days or so. So that's why I switch with the Nexxus and even use DH's shampoo like once a week too!

My husband just uses the cheapy VO5 shampoo or whatever is on sale because his hair is super short (like buzz cut) and there isn't much maintenance required there ;)

I totally hear you on the spending habits lol...When my DH and I combined our bank account I felt I had to justify and explain every spent I made...now I feel more comfortable but it was awkard in the beginning :)

I change shampoos constantly..my hair is really hard to manage and I find myself in search for the "perfect one" a lot...I am currently using an egg and protein shampoo from Spanish Gardens...I found it a loooong time ago at Marshalls and it was GREAT! AMAZING! but then Marshalls wasn't selling it anymore. Two months ago I was telling my DH about it and he bought it for me from Amazon! It's about 15dls (too much for a shampoo) but giving my case it's worth it! there isn't really any other shampoo out there that works this good.

As for hair tips, mayo as a hair mask works really good!!

I use Johnson's baby shampoo and conditioner - it sounds silly but it leaves my hair so silky soft!

I alternate between Infusium 23 Moisture Replenisher Shampoo and Aveda Brilliant Shampoo. I wish I could use the Aveda all the time because it's what my stylist uses on me and it smells SO good but it's costly. I love them both. Infusium is a really great low-end shampoo for me. Suds are important to me and oh, how it suds. It really gets my hair clean (I put a ridiculous amount of product in it). I can't say enough good things about the Aveda. I just can't. :)

We use Garnier and have had no problems I love the leave-in conditioner. But sometimes I buy the huge pump bottle of Suave they make all kinds of shampoos usually I buy the 2 in 1 which has the conditioner in it also I have bought their Humectress which is good too. If you read the ingrdients on the back the cheap shampoos have most of the same ingredents as the expensive ones. even the target or walmart brands. Pantene is also a good inexpensive brand.

 I don't wear alot of make up so I usually just buy the wet n wild brand or whatever the cheap brand is and it last me a long time but I don't wear it every day. I don't know if they put anything that different in the more expensive brands.

Wen! It's really amazing!

I use Herbal Essences for long hair -it has a citrus-y smell that I love; Faithk08, I can one up you -my DH uses Axe as body wash AND shampoo (he also has a buzz cut.) Jackie -I've seen the Wen commercial so many times -I'm almost tempted to try it! Is it expensive?

I like Loreal or Pantene but right now I've been using the generic shampoo from the Dollar store.  However, I splurge on the conditioner because my hair knots up really easily so I have to have the really good moisturizing conditioner.

I alternate between Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Special shampoo and Neutrogena's Anti-Residue shampoo.  However, Organix has some really awesome shampoos and conditioners, too!
