Good morning ladies. I need a little advice here. I have been on a I would say 85% clean healthy diet and I work out everyday, sometimes two times. I cant get my wieght to stay consistant. It goes from 148 to 144 everyday. I get a little frustrated with it. and I cant get myself under 144. I would like to get back to where I was at 135 atleast.

Any advice would be great! Thank you ladies!!

I am right there with you! I can't seem to drop under 170 lbs. Every time I get close I just shoot right back up to like 174!! Grrrrrrrrr.

What kind of working out are you doing? It is possible that your weight isn't changing much because you are putting on muscle, which ways more than fat. I know that is why I never drop, but it is still frustrating to see the number! Most health food stores will sell BF% calipers that you can use to measure your body fat % which is a number that you will actually see a consistent drop in if you are eating healthy and working out!

Good luck!

A four pound flux could easily be water weight.

Once you hit a plateau and can't seem to lose any more, you need to up the intensity of your workout. Not how many times a day/week you workout, but if you are walking/running for 30 minutes, make it 35. And when lifting weights, add a little weight and few extra reps.

Also, don't drop your calories below 1200 ever, that makes it harder to lose weight because it slows your metabolism down so much.

Thank you so much ladies!!

DO I just need to push myself more during the workout? I do the insanity workout and the jullian 90 day shred. I do insanity every day and the jullian maybe 4 times a week. I dont have a completely 100% clean diet. I let myself have treats sometimes but in moderation and I really dont limit supper to certain foods but I try to stay within portion size. Am I going to have to cut out every treat and stick to a strict diet to see anything really happen?

I know they say it is 20% gym and 80% diet.

You body definitely is made in your kitchen, however what my dietician told me is that you should stick to the 80:20 rule for healthy eating. Eat healthy 80% of the week and allow yourself a few little treats otherwise you will one day crash hard and give in to everything!

Do you have gym access? Insanity is a crazy workout, and JM knows how to kick butt, but I think  you could really benefit from a weight routine. I started doing heavy lifting about a month ago and I still can't believe the difference it is making!!!

It's a nightmare isn't it?? Like alyciamarlene says, it could be because you're building muscle.

The only time I weight myself now is at doctors appointments. I go by my dress size. If my clothes get a bit snug then I cut back, I'm much less demoralised this way and I feel much more in control. I never really understood my weight anyway because before having my babies I was around a size 6 but weighed about 130-135 ( maybe I have heavy bones??). I'm nowhere near that size now, but as long as my clothes are fitting properly I'm much more confident in myself.

I would love to be a bit smaller (wouldn't most people??) but I am not willing to live my life on a strict diet to achieve it. Life is too short so I am going to enjoy it!!

Awesome!! We actually have a weight bench in the garage I have just been waiting for the garage to get insulated and heated before I try to work out in there. I live in North Dakota so its a littel chilly here right now. I will def try it ounce the garage is finished!! How long have you been working out for if you dont mind me asking?

I've been struggling with losing those last few pounds too and I was talking to DH about this...well, I was expressing my frustration.  He suggested trying to drink more water, so I am going to try this and honestly, I think I'm going to wait until after the holidays because I find it so difficult to diet around the holidays - there are too many great dishes at family, friends and our home.  : )

Canooknic- I def agree with the going off of how clothes fit. I like using that as well. It is just frustrating because before I had Thor I was between 125-130 then after having him I got down to 138 but then fell off the wagon and got up to 154ish. I am glad I am down a little now but I want back to that 138 atleast so bad.

Beccabride- I hate trying to limit myself around the holidays!! haha. I have the worst sweet tooth in the world. and I love food!! I do make sure to drink tons of water and that does help

I definitely agree about limiting yourself during the holidays! The funny thing to me about weight loss and such is that you hear so many different things from the medical community, depending upon who you speak to.  I had one doctor years ago tell me that I could eat whatever I want as long as I exercised.  I run around a lot and on top of that exercise, so I'm not sure how that works.  lol
