This worked out very well.  The open bar included everything other than premium liquors.  Our guests still didn't drink all that much, and what they did drink was mostly a low-alcohol punch.  However, it was nice not to have to worry about the issue.  And we would proabably have paid $250 just to give the guests sodas, so it wasn't a big budget item.
