So I've heard 2 things, that the Fertility Monintors don't work if you have PCOS because your hormones/levels are wacky... and I've read about you all using OPK.  What is the difference?  And they work with PCOS?  Where can I get these things from, do I have to order online or can I find them at a local store?

I have heard that as well - I don't have any experience with the fertility monitors so I can only let you know about OPK's.  I think fertility monitors are around 200 bucks and you still need to buy the testing strips each month.  The most recommended type of OPK are the digital onces by Clearblue Easy since you either get a smiley face or a circle - but I have heard that many people get can get a false positive or a false negative.  You can buy these at any Target, CVS etc.  They are near the pregnancy tests and cost about 30 bucks for 20 tests.

The only real positive way to know if you have ovluated is do have the cycle day 21 progesterone blood test which will confirm it.  I forget, are you on Clomid?  I think you said you were...I have heard that some women ovulate after CD 20, but from what my doctor told me if I ovulate after CD 20, Clomid is not working properly for me.

HTH! :)

I'm not on Clomid yet... I want to know if just the Premarin and Progesterone is making me ovulate, so that is why I want to buy one of those kits to see what it says!  I am supposed to start Clomid once AF returns in a few weeks.  But I guess maybe I'm hoping I'll ovulate without taking Clomid or something.  LOL

I used the Clearblue Digital OPKs and they worked for me...they were stark negative the month I almost O'd but blaring positive the cycle I did O.

Just went at lunch at got the 20 pack Clearblue Digital... I'm gonna test starting in the am!! :)

@ Alison (great name, BTW ;P)- were your cycles regular when you used it?  Because I've had some crazy stuff happen with my cycle recently.  It says in the little pamphlet to start using them on Day 9.  However, my last period ended about a week ago, but I had it for almost 8 weeks before that.  So "Day 9" for me was a loooooong time ago!! LOL

LOL...I don't get any cycles because of my PCOS so all of my periods were brought on by Provera and the only reason I o'd was because of Clomid. I am no help in your situation :-/.
