Since we are all TTC (and some of you newly preggo, yupi!), just wondered where you stand with your family on the idea of child rearing...or how you plan to cope.
I've heard from many that nice, tame relationships with your inlaws can have nasty spats when children become involved, or the way to rear a child is questioned.
I have long said that I love my inlaws, and they are great. In fact they just bought a second home near us (since we live 10 hours away) Good thing, too becase we are TTC soon! It will be nice to have them here.
But tonight, I totally disagreed with my MIL (they are over visiting) about a random "child rearing" topic... the way sex-ed is taught in schools. It is such a random topic, and totally not applicable at this time at
all, and won't be for another decade. But the way we disagreed made me feel weird. It was the first time that we argued about something like that.
It made me realize that I may be less in-line with her than I think...about quite a few issues and those will come to the surface when we have children.
DH was on my side with this one, and he said it, which is good. But ug. There will be some future sucky moments. LOL.
Anything like this happen to you? Wanna share?
