Sometimes my cat Mulan sleeps at the foot of the bed, sometimes she sleeps next to my arm & sometimes she just sleeps elsewhere.  Well anyway last night I shifted my position and stretched out a bit, not realizing she was there & caught her claw (through the blankets) under my toenail!!  I tried to quickly move my foot because you know how when cats get stuck on something they just pull really hard to get loose rather than retract gently.  It hurt like hell!  It seems like this would be a freak accident right?!  But this is the 2nd time it's happened.  She does have pretty long claws, but how the hell does she get caught under my toe nail through 2 blankets like that :/  It sucks & then my toe is bleeding in the middle of the night.  Ok, vent over...I just had to share!

:( that does suck! Ick, I hurt just thinking about that! But it is odd that she can get through two blankets.

OUCH is right!!!!!  My BFF actually trims her cats' claws with nail clippers - they still have their claws, but they aren't quite as sharp that way - I don't know enough about cats to know how she manages it.....

OUCH! they always manage to get the most tender spot.

I have 3 cats and my oldest (and fattest) likes to jump on the couch or the bed and she can't always quite make it so she digs her claws in... even if you are the object on the bed or couch. OW! I cap her nails now. It doesn't hurt and saves my skin (and furniture) I clip her nails and then wait a day to glue the caps on. She pulls them off eventually or they fall off once her nails grow but it saves my skin.

OUCH OUCH OUCH! !! !

I know what you mean - Schoasti sometimes sleeps on a cat bed under my desk, and I'll snuggle my feet there while I work. . .once in a while he'll just wake up and claw my foot and yowza. . .ouch!

Ow!! I've had that happen before, no fun!! We thought about caps for our cat when he began to systematically destroy our couch, but he only kept them on for a few hours before managing to get them all off.

Maybe sleep in thick socks? Lol!
