OK, parents: I totally understand that you have things to do and errands to run, and when you have a lot of kids you have to take them with you.

However!

Bringing them into my office and letting them SHRIEK at the top of their lungs, run around, spin the turnstile like a freakin' merry-go-round until it's so loud in here that I cannot hear the customers on the phone?

NOT OKAY.

Yes, it is difficult--at times impossible, I'm sure--to keep your kids quiet. Even worse when you have like 7 of them. But could you at least seem to be TRYING to control them? Half-heartedly saying "Sit down, kids" or "Stop it" is not sufficient.

Urgh...... I've had like 5 families with screamers walk in today and I've had enough!!!

haha im sorry. i try to keep my little one quite. I dont let him scream or i try to tell him not to. If i run errands i try not to take him with me. 1. i cant focus on what im doing 2. its rude for me to be in midsentence and have to turn around to yell at him lol

I'm with Nelly5! I am so self conscious of the way my toddler behaves- not because she is badly behaved or has had no dicipline but because the last thing you want in a public place is to be judged by others! I do try to do things when I am on my own and I can honestly say I have never had to deal with a public tantrum but I think it is rude for people with children to let them be naughty and expect other people to just deal with it. It is not cool to just turn a blind eye to your naughty child- not only does it make you look bad but it reinforces to the child that they can get away with it!

This happened at the mall today...my mom and I were covering our ears because it was echoing and bouncing off the walls so badly!  And it was four or five kids running and screeching/screaming and running into people. The mom didn't even apologize when my bag was knocked out of my hands!

I LOVE children but I hate when parents let them get away with that!
